This is so stupid. Instead of WASTING the tax payers money on stupid sh*t like "searches for marijuana plots", how about finding something more PRODUCTIVE to use that money for?

FACT - Alcohol kills more people per year than ANY drug.

MYTH - Marijuana is a gateway drug.

FACT - Cigarettes kill more people than marijuana does each year.

MYTH - Marijuana Is More Damaging to the Lungs Than Tobacco.
__________

The ONLY reason that Marijuana isn't legalized nationwide is because the government can't regulate it. Therefore, they are unable to TAX it like they do everything else.

STOP THE WAR ON DRUGS! The U.S. has spent over $23 BILLION dollars since 2003, and FOR WHAT?!

That is money that could go toward education, public safety, public infrastructure, to name only a few.

What he said! Right on....what a waste and another example of promoting fear instead of education....

The drug companies are behind the government prosecution of this silliness....think of the mind bending drugs they push each year...and how much profit that represents...It's a Xanax, Prozac nation.

Where do you get your stats from about the alchohal vs Marijane deal
Any recreational use of drugs or alchohal will lead you to stronger substances over time; or heavier use of the substance used. You guys are just using BS figures because you tired of trying to fade the heat substance abuse brings with it.

Let me speak from experience, which after reading this silliness. is needed...I'm not sure if you are talking in generalities or exceptions but for myself and many of the guys I grew up with what you are saying about automatically leading to heavier use or abuse could be generally so....but that would apply much more to alcohol that MJ....I've used a ton of both...and when it was time to quit...I quit...cold turkey, no excuses no DT's...and....Mind over matter.

Yes there are weak willed individuals that can get hooked on Pepsi but so what?...I would consider them the exception...of all of my friends and of people I have known NONE went on to heroin or anything close to being an addict....so much for the myth.

How about doing your OWN research instead of asking someone to do it for you? Must you be spoon-fed by the media, believing all of the bullsh*t lies?( http://www.cdc.gov/healthyyouth/alcoholdrug/i... )( http://drugwarfacts.org/cms/... )

I have NEVER been high in my life, nor will I ever. That being said, I've known people, and KNOW people, who smoke weed and have done so for the better part of their lives. NONE of them have tried anything harder. In fact, I have a relative that has smoked weed his entire life and guess what? He's an executive of a major lighting company that if I were to mention, you'd know the company.

How many people do you hear of smoking a blunt and killing someone in a car wreck? That's right, you don't.

How many people do you hear about dying of lung cancer, as a result of marijuana? That's right, you don't.

N3tD3VIL I'm going to disagree with your assertions, and offer explanations as to why I disagree.
assertion #1 "Fact-Alcohol kills more people per year than any drug"
Alcohol IS a drug
assertion #2"Myth- Marijuana is a gateway drug"
You may be partially right here, but you are also partially wrong. When most people think of the "gateway" argument they do so in the terms that marijuana is a stepping stone to other drugs because it contains some properties that cause addiction to other drugs. That issue is far from settled by science either way. There are about as many studies that conclude one way as there are the other way.
However, the other gateway argument is that marijuana serves as a gateway to the world of illegal drugs in which youths have greater opportunity and are under greater social pressure to try other illegal drugs. That argument is hard to dispute from the available research. If marijuana were legalized, it is unlikely that it would be legally available to minors which would block any potential relief to this gateway argument.
assertion #3"FACT - Cigarettes kill more people than marijuana does each year."
That argument can only survive if you disregard the fact that since more people smoke cigarettes than smoke marijuana more people are likely to die as a result of cigarette related illness.
assertion #4 MYTH - Marijuana Is More Damaging to the Lungs Than Tobacco."
According to available research, given a cigarette of comparable weight, as much as four times the amount of tar can be deposited in the lungs of marijuana smokers as in the lungs of tobacco smokers. The alveolar macrophages of marijuana smokers show a reduced capability to destroy fungal and bacterial organisms, as well as tumor cells, this reduced capability does not occur in cigarette smokers. Despite a marked disparity in the amount of each substance smoked per day by chronic users(three or four joints of marijuana versus more than 20 cigarettes of tobacco), the difference in the percentages of tobacco smokers and marijuana smokers experiencing symptoms of chronic bronchitis appears statistically insignificant.
If people want to legalize marijuana, all they have to do is avail themselves of the legislative process. NORML was founded 40 years ago and in that time they have been unable to mount a viable national initiative. This may be a result of Amotivational Syndrome which is discussed anecdotally in the literature related to chronic marijuana use.

Fact Marijuana has caused the death of far more people than you will ever know.
One example go to the Mexican border and walk around after dark you choose the place, any where from El Paso to San Diego. Go to Jaurez mill around the streets. Check out the Drug wars going on.
Marijuana is one of the major drugs being traficked across the border into the US
Fact I have known a lot of potheads, they all seem to be dipcraps to me. Most of the people I have known to smoke have all experimented with heavier drugs, most are dead now have numerous health problems besides having toast for brains.
