I am in absolute disbelief that the editor of the Herald would allow, in this day and age, Wanda Rose's completely false, unsubstantiated racist drivel regarding european jews heritage. Mitochondrial dna has proven her completely wrong. The evidence is clear, the only controversy comes from people who just don't like facts and Jews. While there are many "theories" like hers, they are just that : only theories with no science behind them. Look it up!

Hey Wanda Rose: You are way off base and IMO politically incorrect.
Regarding your last 2 sentences, "Congress gives Israel billions to defend itself against Palestinians who are not allowed sophisticated weapons. This is unjust, and much of the world sees this. Wanda, am I to assume you are in favor of providing weapons to the terrorists who are supported by Syria, Iran, and radicalized Islamic extremists. Not a good idea.

Most Americans support Israel and hope for a two state government to be established. I for one support our position in this situation and am very happy you are in the extreme minority here in the US.

Wanda Rose, Many Americans do not know what Jews go through daily in Isreal. The country of Isreal with a population of 4 million people is surrounded by hundreds of millions of Arabs and Muslims who want to see Isreal destroyed and Jews annihilated off the face of the planet. Palestinian refugees are held hostage by belligerent Iran, Syria, Hamas, Hesbullah, and the Arab league which wants to destroy Isreal and the jews are trying to survive against them after always being attacked by these Arab and Muslim racist groups and safe people like you Wanda, who sits in your comfortable sofa in Carmel while the underdog Isrealis have to fight for their very existence. Where are you when these terrorists attack Isreal and then ignorant haters like you condemn Isreal when they defend themselves. Wanda, you are selfish, and insensitive to Jews and need to look into a mirror and really study the middle east. Ever since the exodus thousands of years ago when Arabs forced Jews from their homes after punishing them into slaavery and bondage, Jews have tried to survive as a people and America always fights for the underdog with our decency and fairness. The Palestinians, on the other hand sided with the Nazis in world war 11 and aided in the genocide of millions of Jews. Wamda dp your homework and stop being a hater.

It's really too bad that Ms. Rose puts a hateful face on the fully valid proposition that refugee Palestinians and their descendants be allowed to return to their ancestral homes. It helps neither her cause nor the Palestinians'.

Why lash out at just Ashkenazi Jews when many non-Ashkenazi Jews are hateful toward Palestinians? Why lash out at Ashkenazi Jews as a whole when many Ashkenazim (plus many other Jews) are in favor of peace and fairness for Palestinians?

In the dark, if palestinians refugees and other Arabs and Muslims were allowed to move to Isreal, Jews would be so much outnumbered that the Jewish state would cease to exist. The two state approach is fair and balanced but Hamas always blocks an agreement by attacking Isreal and starting bellegerent moves when the agreement is ready to happen. It is simple if all Palestinians want peace, it would happen. So far, too many of them do not want peace and the Iranians, Syrians, and other Jewish haters use Palestinians as cannon fodder in supporting their terrorism. Isreal has constantly given up land for peace but there is a limit in which the security of Isreal itself would be jeopardized if they give up strategic security zones. They will not do that. Liberal Americans do not have a clue as to the real peace for both the Jews and Palestinians. There is a solution but both sides have to want it.

The partnership, if it can be called that, between Israelis and Palestinians is an unequal one. The Israelis, having the "Jewish state" that occupies the Palestinian territories, are in a position to impose authority over the Palestinians. Israel can grant Palestinians freedoms and then take them away if it chooses, like a parent.

No, Hamas's hostility doesn't do much good. Other powers like Iran and Syria, while Palestinians aren't responsible for them, should try to be constructive and not leverage the Israeli–Palestinian situation for their own benefit. By the way, let's recognize that these other powers have their own interests in mind and not necessarily the Palestinians' interests (and certainly not necessarily Israel's)—i.e., Palestinians' sharing of an Arab ethnicity with neighboring states' populations does not counterbalance Israel's power in this process.

The concern that Jews would be outnumbered if Palestinians moved into the 1948–1967 borders seems to privilege Israeli Jews over Palestinians with ancestry in those lands and is reflective of Israel's paternalistic control of the negotiations. Demographically, the effect of this scenario would be clear, that Israeli Jews could become a minority, and it's true that this could diminish the "Jewish state" label at the Israelis' potential security risk. That would be bad for Jewish Israelis. But if this is unacceptable, and if Palestinians are somehow to be compensated for relinquishing the right of return, the compensation must be full and genuine—more than "here's your hilly, land-locked sector and your super-crowded waterfront strip"—and Palestinians must be equally a party to the agreement. Otherwise, it's just more imposition by a more powerful player, and it's not peace.

In the dark, an agreement had been reached, so Palestinians had a chance to have a good separate state. but the Hamas mantra of wanting to destroy Isreal is the problem not a fair Palestinian state. The unfair and unbalanced coverage in the middle east and by liberal groups lke amnesty international, the aclu, and the U.n itself never allows the correct info to reach the masses in the Arab lands. All I am trying to communicate is that Isreal is not the problem. That is the truth. They have given up lands only for Hamas and Hesbollah to use them to attack Isreal. The press in the middle east is not fair and balanced. Even the unfair BBC gets many of their stories wrong because they do not seem to give the U.S nor isreal a fair shake.

the reason why they use corn sweeters in US is that there is a sugar traiff in this country, The Tariff doubles the price of sugar in the US, until a certain quality is sold each year and then the tariff is eased until the next year. Thats why there are no US candy makers left in this country, they went to Canada.

Why can't Israel pay for their own weapons and stop buliding illegal settlements. Israel needs to return some land annexed during its preemptive attack on the arabs during the six day war.
We can't be fighting Israel's war with the arabs plus giving them billions forever .
