Sounding off on roundabouts

Roundabouts are great for smaller intersections, but not larger ones.

Multi-lane roundabouts are very confusing and dangerous for inexperienced drivers as well as for drivers who only use the intersection occasionally.

When traffic is heavy at a multi-lane roundabout the driver must know well in advance which lane to be in or else be forced to exit when not intended or circle endlessly in the central lane because it is almost impossible to change lanes.

A multi-lane roundabout near me has the directional signage posted barely one hundred feet before entry. It is nearly impossible to read the complicated and cryptic directional sign with enough time to change lanes when traffic is heavy.

the roundabout on 96th street and westfeild blvd is HORRID ... during rush hour it backs up big time

because now it's no longer timed for the light on the south side of the highway and traffic backs up an dgridlocks the roundabout so NO ONE CAN USE IT until the far light chnages

simply BAD PLANNINNG and DESIGN

The traffic there seems no worse than it used to be. I'd like to see a roundabout replace the light on the south end of the bridge.

well, i have to admit it took me a while to figure out what a couple of others in here said already... if you're going more than 1/4 way around the roundabout, you need to be in the center lane...otherwise the people to your left have the right to turn in front of you to "get off" the roundabout... confusing for us westerners...

Bottom line, if you're crossing a dashed line while in the roundabout... you don't have the right of way!
