We want peace, not more phony art galleries,
statues, or useless " performing arts centers".
We MUST stand up for FREEDOM!!
Now is the time---Brainard MUST GET OUT of TOWN!!
Will you be iniating the legal process to do so, or will you simply be posting your rants, stealing other people's online names, making hateful, vulgar and hurtful comments in the Carmel Topix forums.
Pal, you need serious help. Nobody gives a d a m n what you think about the leadership of Carmel.
Take those meds dude.

Carmel will be haunted by mis-management and bad planning for years to come. Jim should have stopped with the traffic circles. The monon only has half of the members it needs to operate. Who do you think is going to pick up the rest of the tab?

Brainard is a great asset to Carmel. When I moved to Carmel in 1993, the mayor and council were clearly a bit out of touch. I give Brainard credit for building a vision for Camel. While I do have disagreements with our mayor, I give him credit for developing a vision and making it happen. One will always be criticized for progress. Thanks Mayor Brainard for doing a great job.

VERY GOOD REPLY!!!

Why does Carmel Patriot put the word mayor in quotes? Obviously the nut job patriot does not realize that the mayor was indeed elected to that office by the voters in Carmel.

Too many "carmelites" have brought this mess onto
themselves, but they are TOO PETTY to admit it.
Carmel Indiana's new motto should be
"the Masses are the Asses".

Just curious as to whom you are quoting when you stated "the masses are the asses" Who are you quoting? Thanks

Glad I live in Carmel. While I've never agreed with all the things happening in Carmel, it's a better place to live today than it was 25 years ago.

I notice you refer to Brainard as Jim. Do you have a personal friendship with Mayor Brainard?

Carmel is a lot better place than it was 8 years ago when I moved here. It's even better than it was 3 years ago---or last year. From the looks of the works in progress around town, I'll be saying the same thing 10 years from now too.

I am, however, concerned about the lack of new jobs and/or large companies moving into town, the city debt, and the empty storefronts I see. But for all I know, we're no worse off than any of other city of similar size(?) I'm open to correction on any of this.

Carmel Indiana is BROKE!

Major local banks will NOT loan anymore money
to the City of Carmel Indiana, because
of failures like that $297,500,000.00 boondoggle
called Gramercy.
Another is the failed "performing arts center"
that is already $134,000,000.00 OVER-BUDGET!

Now a HOTEL TAX to pay for this 550-seat,for-the-Very Rich-only "concert hall", called the
"Carmel Indiana performing arts center".
In reality;
Another tax-supported snob-atorium

Also, the Hotels to taxed don't even exist
in the Blueprint stage.
They are FOLLIES in Brainard's weak mind.

Another Brainard screw-up are the "roundabouts"
that are costing Carmel Indiana taxpayers
over $6,000,000.00 a piece.

25 more of these "roundabouts" are planned:
TOTAL COST---another $150,000,000.00--plus
Interest--AND another series of COST-OVERRIDES!

Carmel Indiana's city-governmental DEBTS
total over $888,000,000.00 in a town with
a declining 63,000-person population base--in 2008. This MEGA-debt load in UN-REPAYABLE!
In comparison;
When Brainard first became "mayor" on January 2nd, 1996, the Carmel Indiana city-governmental
debt was "only" $23,000,000.00.

Since 2002, Carmel Indiana has experienced
a NET LOSS of over 16,000 Jobs and Careers.
What of the future?
Delta Fawcett Inc. will close it's doors by mid-2010, with a further NET LOSS of 860 jobs.

Remember this--Brainard (and Bruce Cordingley
0f PedCor Inc.) have been in charge since
January of 1996.
SO----------
DO THE MATH!

Over 12% of all houses in Carmel Indiana
are in FORECLOSURE--in October of 2008.
Just two years ago, the home FORECLOSURE RATE
in Carmel Indiana was 1%.

61% of all available ofice space in
Carmel Indiana is VACANT as of September
of 2008.
In 2003, only 4% of all available office space
was VACANT!

Now you see why Brainard(and Bruce Cordingley)
are being denied money for more of Brainard's
FOLLIES!
This is why our local banks want Brainard
to RE-PAY nearly $180,000,000.00 in un-repaid
loans, and yet Brainard wants another nearly
$450,000,000.00 for un-named future "projects".

Brainard's "hotel tax" is just the beginning
of future, and HIGHER, SKY-HIGH, TAXES!

Yes my friends, enjoy the "new Carmel Indiana"
because it's based on UN-REPAYABLE DEBTS,
massive housing FORECLOSURES, MASSIVE BRIBERY,
and MORE Brainard-Cordingley pipe-dream FOLLIES!

Oh yes, the Carmel Indiana School Boards
want a DOME on the Carmel Indiana Senior
High School Football Stadium.

The cost for such a DOME?
Fasten your seatbelts:
A minimal cost estimate for such a DOME
structure---$86,000,000.00.

Guess who will pay the means for this monstrosity?
The Means;
The tax-paying People of Carmel Indiana
with a 2% Carmel Ind. COIT tax increase, and an
additional 3-percent increase in the
Hamilton County Sales Tax Rate.

Carmel Indiana has lived well BEYOND it's
means for far too long.

This is the Brainard-Cordingley-based
"visionary dream" in action!

God Help Us.
