Suburban teacher arrested in internet sex sting

Police say 32-year-old Chad Roby thought he was chatting online with a 13-year-old boy.

I personally had chad roby (note the lack of capitalization letters, as mr roby would prefer) as my middle school teacher, and he was a nice,trustworthy guy. I'm sure he just wanted to talk to the 13-year-old boy and warn him of the dangers of internet predators. Mr. roby WILL be exonerated! I have faith!

I am a fellow follower of Christ as well, but we must remember that he was not a follower of Christ. I beleive he was caught up in a perverse emotion nurtured by satin. Though I would like to believe that he is innocent I have a hard time with that. This is not to say he can't repent, asking for forgiveness from God and becomes heirs to God's kingdom. listen you two i personally had mr roby as a teacher, a basketball coach and as a play director and to me he was always a weird guy. the year he became wrestling coach was the year he was arrrested. seems a little fishy to me showing wrestling moves on 6-8th grade children. touching them. He also asked me to be a clinichian for the wrestling team. so i would like to now how u really had him as a teacher u would of seen his oddness. i am pretty sure he didnt want to tell the kid the warnings of sexual predators considering, he had talked very sexually to the 13 year old.

I knew Mr. Roby for a few years during my teenage years. I am now in my 20's. This is not about religion. You should all be ashamed of yourselves for judging Mr. Roby. Whether he is innocent or guilty is up to the court to decide. I personally do not see how he would be capable of such a crime but if there is something that caused him to do this it is some sort of mental problem, not the work of Satan.

I hope that regardless of being innocent or guilty, that Mr. Roby will get the help he needs so he can once again be the contributing member to society that he was when I knew him.

i was on the wrestling team. mr roby didnt want to coach he was told to coach cuz mr vena wouldnt. roby wasnt gonna coach this year. i know cuz i asked him cuz im gonna wrestle agian this year except i didnt like vena. plus it was coach lukasyk that showed wrestling moves. roby didnt know them and he didnt show any.

I only new chad for a few months last year. I was in a play with him... he was preeeeetty weird if you ask me. He always would hang out with the younger crowd of kids in the show, never the adults. Back then i didnt think much of it but now it screeeeams pedophile. Also, he was really weird about telling people how old he was. I thought he was maybe 24-25...finding out he was already in his 30's and hanging out with junior high and high schoolers... makes me wish i would said something earlier...although really that probably wouldn't have made much of a difference. I wonder what kind of trouble he'll be in, law wise... seems to me jail time is heading his way. Weird, weird...thats all I can say

I had roby as a teacher for drama and a director for plays all three years iw as there. At first i thought he was cool but then at the end of the play the whole cast whent to Oberweise and he came along!!! and our parents came too but they all sat in a different section. He, on the otherhand, sat with all the kids. My whole grade knew he was a weirdo also because, two of the guys in our grade would always go over to either mr roby's house or mr. roby's brother's house. And according to these two guys they played video games but who knows what really happened. I know for a fact that one of the guys thinks that roby is innocent and has strong feelings about it. Really suspicous if you ask me!

Yeah, I had this freak for Drama in 7th grade in the 04-05 school year. He had us play a game where he sat on a chair as the "jail guard" and we had to get the keys from him. He pretended to sleep and the keys were on his groin area, so we had to get the keys from there. This dude was always a little different, and he was also a wrestling and basketball coach. Well, now we all know why.

He was always more comfortable with the kids than the adults. I thought he was gay, but did not have a mental illness that would cause him to seek sexual gratification with children. I hope he chemically castrates himself so he won't hurt anyone else and gets the help so he enjoy the rest of his life.
