I heard (didnt see them myself) batesville's team was in the mount Vernon student section at semi state. That is some class. Batesville's coach always has a "pop shot" at Greensburg after each game on WRBI. You dont hear that out of Stacy. Sorry, Batesville that Your "recruit" left for a better program. Greensburg runs a better program than Batesville and has the upper hand in the coaching department. GO PIRATES!!!
After the pirates beat batesville that coach called the hoeing kid who jacked up 30+ shots that night unselfish and said he thought batesville would win a state title next year or the year after. Lmao. Keep dreamin

I was sitting in Greensburg's upper section, on the first row of those bleachers (behind the rail) where the Greenburg crowd sat next to the Speedway crowd. I was just right of the midcourt line and in front of me was the lower section of bleachers.

I overheard a man behind me telling another that in the Speedway student section (lower breachers) was a Batesville player. The Speedway game was over. Their seats were on the same side of the court as Greensburg's, and I figured the Batesville guy moved into that section when some of the seats were vacated.

No big deal. I was glad the guy came.

When I wrote the above, I completely forgot that Indiana has a junior class all-star system, as well as its senior class all-star team that plays Kentucky in June.

In keeping with my last post, I located the web page for the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA)....

http://www.ibcacoaches.com/news-events/boys_i...

It has Bryant McIntosh listed on the "2013 IBCA/Subway Underclass All-State First Team."

It also has Sean Sellers listed in the "2013 IBCA/Subway Underclass All-State Honorable Mention" section.

Among the listings are other players from Jac-Cen-Del, South Ripley, Waldron, Connersville, Columbus North, and Columbus East.

Sorry, Kyle may be picking your team
By Kyle Neddenriep [email protected]

[An excerpt]

So the wise guys on Twitter this week are begging me to pick against their team in Saturday's four state championship games.

Hardy-har. Hey, my 4-4 record in last week's semistate games actually was an improvement over the regional round. I'm trending upward as the season winds down. Without further ado [...]:

Second-ranked Greensburg (25-1) has rolled through the tournament with remarkable ease, defeating four top-10 opponents by 11 points or more, including a 62-37 dismantling of No. 1 Mt. Vernon last week.

The scary part is that all five Greensburg starters will be back again next year.

Not that seventh-ranked Fort Wayne Concordia (23-4) isn't a tested team. The Cadets are 12-0 against 3A opponents this season, losing only to 4A programs.

Concordia is led by junior D.J. McCall (17.3 ppg) and senior Thomas Starks (12.8), while Greensburg counters with juniors Sean Sellers (17.7 ppg) and Bryant McIntosh (16.7 ppg, 7.4 assists) and sophomore Ryan Welage (12.7 ppg).

I'm sure the Pirate backers don't want to read this, but I'm picking Greensburg.

If Greensburg doesn't win, we know to blame Kyle Neddenriep at the Indianapolis Star.

1) who was our recruit?

2) I'm not sure how you can say Greensburg runs a better program than Batesville. What constitutes a better 'program?' Putting sports before academics?

Thanks for your input Dale. What'd you want batesville's coach to say?

I have a lot of respect for Batesville.

I wish them the best for next season but still, that "best" will entail that they be better than Greensburg. If it happens, then include me as a supporter of Batesville. If it doesn't happen, then consider me a Greensburg alumni.

The game is played on the court. Leave your dislike there.

All I expected to hear was to give credit to greensburg on a great win. Nothing of the sort came out of his mouth. Instead what the team has got was batesville players and fans showing up along the way to the title to sit in the oppositions crowd and cheer against the pirates. The whole deal is ridiculous. The whole recruiting thing is dumb as well. Families move every day. Last I checked greensburg had never been a basketball powerhouse. I was happy to see you congratulate the team on the state champs post. It was refreshing after all the negative comments coming out of batesville on twitter which prompted a high school sports blogger to suggest they just have the teams have a steel cage match rather than basketball games next year. All the chatter gets old. I shouldn't have grouped the whole town together in my assertions though, and I apologize for that. Good luck next year.
