This is BS. The bill should include a clause that the insurance companies can't raise their rates just because this bill passes. The insurance companies should have saved their money over the many years that we didn't have any devastating storms. As usual, the consumer is going to pay, one way or another.

I keep wondering the same thing. For years and years people have paid premiums with no claims. Can they really be that broke if they had saved that money? As it is, when you do have a claim they do not ever give you 100% of the money. deductibles for this and that, payment for this and that, etc.

Heres the way that crap works. Every year that theres no hurricaine they pay out all the money to investors as profit. The investors get used to gettin' their palms greasy and when a hurricaine comes they raise the rates to pay claims and grease palms. I think they should be required to put 90% up for a rainy day and let the investor get by on 10% |

Welcome to the ultra dirty political state of Louisiana, then? That's sounds about right to me too.
