Hey, we don't need any more whiners here in Alaska. Go back to Mexifornia.I love Port Angeles. It's an amazing place to live. Just one of the things I enjoy, among many, is jogging and hiking in the Olympic National Park. What a gorgeous piece of nature! Every time I hike in the park I marvel at how pristine and beautiful it is. Just my thoughts. By the way, Joe, I don't know you, and I'm sure you're a good guy, but honestly, if you hate it so much here, why do you still live here? I'm totally sincere here, not trying to be critical. Have you considered Montana or Alaska?

Spell Checkers do not function in Port Angeles either. In fact the entire county has had a total breakdown in grammatical skills, so bad in fact that it takes 20-30 minutes just to compose a Tweet...

Another Arctic Hillbilly chimes in....from Wasilla, where word salads are a popular menu item at the local diner.

..I LOVE Port Angeles for the reasons most people dislike it, I LOVE IT COLD and WET and Rainy.
I have been stuck with a job in a HELL HOLE named Augusa, Georgia for Narly 10 years and now just want to retire and move back to Port Angeles. Augusta Georgia is ike livig in a SAUNA and having a Steamy HOT Wet towel thrown over your head, it is so HOT it is difficult to breathe.
There are HOT Rains all Summer, and the Mosquito's will EAT YOU ALIVE. Give me the Cool Ocean Breeze an the delightful scent of the Pacific Ocean wufting through Port Angeles like a beautiful sweet mist that fills the air and makes it oh so easy to LOVE that wonderful city.

Port Angeles is in the beautiful Olympic mountians area and that is where the greatness stops. People here including top business owners here are nothing short of thieves.
Everything has to be trucked in and there is no work.
Just the other day a new resident got a job at new day restuarant and they layed him off after a week because they neede help getting ready for the winter without telling him.
Then he went to a working interview at another rest. which they did not psay him for working.
My personal experience has been nothing but being stolen from. I went to the hospitial for a lung collapse and heart attack and came back later to find my house had been broken into and anything of value had been stolen.
I sold a lady 3 books for her kid to go to school, which cost me close to 300 dollars and she agreed to 100 bucks (deal) but only gave me 60 and told me that she thought that was fair.
The utility company which is the city of PA will shut your power off for a 35 dollar bill.
Everything is more expensive here and the politicians are corrupt. Major embesselment problems just this week 40 thousand dollars is missing from the city.
The homeless here are your general population and the top wages are about 17 per hour.
Every deal or business i have been involved in has had a shaky or dubious factor to it especially with locals.
I finally have started only dealing with transplants from other states because the locals are basically thieves.
Yes major drug issues and theft. If you are not wealthy and retired this is not the place to come and raise your kids.
The county forefathers have basically doomed thier grand children by the way they have set up this part of the world up to drug addiction and jail.
They swap wifes around here like candy.
They roll the streets up at 5 pm and the only thing to do is bowl drink and do drugs.
restuarants are no good.
I had almost forgotten how cliquish, gossipy and small-minded people are in small town As Lisa indicated. Before they even know your last name you will experience charater assinsignation to a degree that you have to dig your way out.
So dont listen to locals and graurd yourself because these inbred rednecks up here will steal anything includeing the Mayor.

Okay so I agree with joe PA sucked for me for the most part. Beautiful area, close to Seattle, Portland, other beautiful stuff... Downside is if you're younger and new to town with no money... Jobs aren't easy to come by ... You gotta be on it with a resume and all even to be a dishwasher, also huge shitty drug scene... It was hard to find cool kids our age that didn't abuse drugs heavily(hard drugs) you see syringe caps in public places it's gross , also the weather sucks if you're from a sunny place and need a tan and heat. Otherwise the farmers market is awesome, affordable public transit. It rains all the time and is cold and windy and hilly.
