You cannot fix stupid !

I walk around the river three or four times a week and I used the railroad bridge every time.

Matter of fact hundreds of people use that bridge doing their daily walk around the Riverwalk.

Really and you cannot fix callous and cruel either. This man had a daughter who is now grieving the loss of her father, not a year after losing her mother. Yet of course you have to say something rude and unnecessary for all intensive purposes it appears to just have some B.S. comment regarding the death of someone.

I'll defend my father in law until the end. He was a good man and didn't deserve this. If you knew Doug apparently you don't though because Doug was always having fun and being his crazy self. He was a great guy and had done it many times before. He was a hard worker and great father

Please leave the family alone. There are so many people that have jumped off the train bridge that were just plain lucky. I live by the bridge and was saddened to hear the news that he passed this am. I hope that he rests in peace. May God bless you in your time of need

let's not continue to engage these spineless idiots who obviously didn't know the real people. This was an unfortunate accident. Doug lost his wife Shelby almost a year ago. From all this horrible event I hope some of these young kids who think they are invinsible will not jump from that bridge ever again..........RIP DOUG NOW YOU ARE WITH SHELBY AGAIN......LOVE TO YOU FAMILY!

The son in law says, "If you knew Doug apparently you don't though because Doug was always having fun and being his crazy self. He was a great guy and had done it many times before."

So there, you mean mean 'Carlesbad'. You didn't UNDERSTAND that it was perfectly fine and normal for this 44-year-old father to act like he was younger than his kid and thus leave that child an orphan.

Bravo, Phillipi! Bravo Son in Law! You both exhibit stelar judgement! As a monument to you and 'yeahright's character, we'll all face new regulations and restrictions to our normal life.

Do you know what's worse than NOT being able to fix stupidity? Loosing personal freedoms because some stupid guy and his idiotic proponents.

Carlsbad... say it with me now C A R L S B A D... thats right, no e. and shes not an orphan, if shes old enough to be married. She lost her parents, way too young. my dad did many crazy things, many of which brought us closer together. He was a good man. I dont know doug, but i feel for his family. Being a 44 year old man doesnt mean you cant have fun. i agree that there should be something done about jumping from there, hes not the first person to die there, wont be the last i fear.

It is what it is. Someone drunk and being stupid. The only good part of the story was that he was not out driving a car and killing someone else.

As an American I fully believe in the rights of any idiot to get as drunk as they want and do something completely foolish,...so long as they do not violate the law or injure someone else.

I hope that all of his friends drink up and follow his lead.

Firm belief that nature is designed to weed out idiots from the gene pool.

My so called "cold, black heart" donates tons of time and money to what are REALLY tragic cases with Make A Wish, St. Jude's Hospital and Shriner's. When a child loses a parent to a work place accident or a car accident then my heart pours out. When an idiot kills himself while living in full idiot mode I have no sympathy. I feel bad for the loved ones that they left behind with their stupidity,...but not for the stupid one themselves.

I won't be feeding off of it,...he may have had a life insurance policy though so someone might get to feed off of it. I on the other hand might see a premium increase in my own life insurance thanks to this winner.
