Carlsbad wants hearing on traffic lights on Pierce
Carlsbad residents have long-known that the intersections at West Pierce and Eighth streets and West Pierce Street and Calloway Drive are some of the most dangerous in the city, but it has taken years to convince the New Mexico Department of Transportation that traffic lights are needed there.

Have you seen the traffic and the speeders on Pierce? Are there no police around to inforce this area? I hate going on that street. And the stop lights are crazy, if someone pulls up to one, then the light changes red even though the car has already left the intersection on a right turn. The state needs to fix the programming of these stop lights. Pierce and Canal is the worst. It's like everything is getting dumbed down here in Carlsbad.
