Oops, I must have missed that. Who's name is on it as sponsor? Who should know what the bill says? What's that, someone else is to blame, all you did was sponsor it? You were just too busy to write it or proof it before introducing it - Pobracita!

NM deserves better than you!

Brown is the subject of national ridicule. Her bill is all over twitter & Facebook. National blogs & magazines are excoriating her, as they should. One pundit called her "that yahoo from NM." She's trying to backtrack now now that's she's the subject of national attention. She is an antiabortionist extremist & should be drummed out of NM legislature.

Can you say "damage control," boys and girls? I knew you could.

Like hell she didn't know it was in there. She just hoped people wouldn't notice.

I am not willing to give her the benefit of the doubt in this case.

She is a lawyer, a professional liar as they all are, most of whom have very good command of the English language. I have a really hard time believing she just signed her name to some sloppily written legislation.

I have an even harder time believing that she really thought she would prevent rapes by making abortion illegal in rape cases. Like a rapist would really think to himself, "Gee, I don't think I will rape that woman because coercing her to have an abortion to get rid of the evidence would be a crime, and I could get in trouble for that." Yeah, right.

She was a board member of Right to Life Carlsbad. The agenda of RTL is to obstruct and prevent women from having abortions in every way possible, and to give Roe v Wade death by a thousand cuts.

So, if I am wrong, and she really is this incompetent, ignorant and naive, she is not fit to be writing laws for the State of NM.

If I am correct, then she is not telling the truth, and she is not fit to be writing laws for the State of NM.

Either way, Carlsbad, you should vote her out in 2014. NM deserves better.

Maybe she meant to say, "I was elected to lead, not to read."????

I dislike the bill, both the original and even the revision (which I think could still be misused).

That said, I'm finding the most distasteful part of this to be the opposition. Some of the comments made in the facebook page against her were threatening, vulgar and awful. There seems to be an attitude among many members of the Pro-Choice movement to the effect of "how dare you have a different opinion than I do!!!"- news flash- we all often have different opinions.

Abortion is so emotionally charged that many on both sides of the issue, Pro-Choice and Pro-Life, are acting dishonorably. I have not seen the facebook page, but if threats are being made, those comments should be yanked and the police should investigate.

Now Brown is trying to blame the legislative council for writing the bill, that she signed, that she now claims is sloppily worded. Her accusation is especially cowardly in that the council is prohibited by law from revealing any discussions they may have had with her.

It appears to me that Brown's bill was a sneaky and dishonest attempt on her part to restrict abortion. She got called out for it, and now she does not appear to have the courage and conviction to fess up. I would guess that her justification is that if she has to tell a few lies to prevent unborn children from being murdered, then the end justifies the means.

My MIL goes to a church where they just preach God and goodess, and don't teach people to hate Muslims, gays, liberals and environmentalists or try to tell people how to vote. We go there with her from time to time because it makes her happy.

One of my sisters, however, goes to a hate factory every Sunday morning. It is unbelievable how they push hate and intolerance, almost to the point of telling everyone to go out and kill infidels. She has also largely estranged herself from her own family because she can't talk to us without telling us how wrong we are about everything, and how we should raise our kids. Pathetic brainwashing victim.

The NM driver's license law is a bad piece of legislation and probably will be repealed.

But the website you provided is racially bigoted and offensive, just like some of the pukes who have been elected to the AZ state legislature.

You should just build a fence around your whole freaking state so all you paranoid xenophobes can feel safe.

Another national joke being made of carlsbad new mexico. why is this a surprise to anyone? our hospital has been a joke for over 10 years, they are trying to clean it up but are having a hard time because of the idiots who are still around from the golden era of letting people die for fun, our police force is a joke and all they have done to get our crime rates down is to stop reporting all the crime so it doesnt look as bad (look at the guy chopped up and buried in his back yard. still not declared murder. the three arrested for a drive by, after shooting a little girl, getting away with a sideways glance and a boys will be boys attitude, the smoldering body barely being investigated, it goes on and on). we have topped two teen charts in the last 15 years, top numbers per capita in the nation in teen pregnancy in the 90s and teen suicide just a few years ago. this town is an absolute joke and no one does anything about it. you try, you get harassed by the police. you try to do something about a teacher bullying children in the classroom, the teacher gets away without so much as a reprimand and your kid gets bullied worse and "made an example out of" in front of the whole class. and what happens when you report it to the school board? "its not our responsibility to regulate attitudes and actions of teachers within the school." talk to the principal, its not my job to know what goes on in the classrooms." then what is your job? to tell a teacher which parents have complaints so you can chastise their kids? there is not much in this town that is worth saving. not much and not many.
