All candidates agree that shrinking the deficit is a top priority? Granted, the deficit is a high priority but jobs and the economy must be the top priority. Shrinking the deficit will not bring jobs but jobs might help shrink the deficit. In order to bring jobs, confidence must be restored in the economy by extending the tax cuts, maybe even increasing tax cuts. Tax credits for hiring in the manufacturing process might give manufacturing hires a boost. Even Friedman would tell you that a country that cannot support its own needs will be dependent on others. Being closely dependent on others in the world economy will drag us down to their standards. Prosperity depends on other countries depending on us as they did in our boom days. Take a lesson from Cal (Coolidge). In a depression, he cut taxes and spending and avoided an extended depression and caused the roaring 20s. Encourage business and get the heck(?) out of the way.

Another top priority is protecting our southern border. Mexico poses a much greater threat than IRAQ ever did. We have completed our mission in Afghanistan (it was not nation building). Bring home the 101st airborne and give them an extended vacation just across the border in Mexico. Let them set up a 30-50 mile corridor (safe zone) for the Sea Beas to go in and use indigenous labor, jobs for illegal aliens (oh, they are not illegal in Mexico) to build schools and clinics. US citizens will be going illegal in Mexico to send money back to the states. The money of course will be the aid money that we are presently wasting on Calderon.

That’s enough for a start. Stay tuned to Dale E. Brown for Congress for more solutions. He welcomes your ideas.
