What in the world is going on over there? I guess they don't have a lot to do. How can there be that many problems in a cow town?

Carlisle isn't a cow pasture. It's residents earn some of the highest incomes in the state. The town's real estate is worth mucho bucks. Grow up.

It is a cow pasutre, what does the price of real estate have anything to do with it? There are some big houses in those cow pastures, it's still a cow pasture.

Maybe "cow town" was not a good choice. Something like SNOB TOWN would be more fitting.
What does having lots of money and expensive real estate have to do with anything in the article?

Sounds like another Spencer,MA situation. Easy fix: Contract out to other towns until the problem is solved.

Sounds like Carlisle has a "rat" problem. What a surprise...the two malcontents have the same attorney. If they were so unhappy why didn't they just change jobs? Thats what we do in the private sector. Sounds like somone is just trying to make a quick buck.

Not much else to do in the winter in a town with 1 store, no gas station, and no traffic lights. In the summer things tend to get crazy with the ice cream stand and illegal fishermen at the bedford concord river bridge. For fans of the comical south park, I refer you to the smug alert episode.

Hey lawsuits, glad you have SO much money. For a small police force you've got some problems over there. And don't tell me to grow up, I may not live in Snobtown but my life is pretty good idiot.

It's good to know you're not from my town. If you're so happy where you are why are you here reading this message?

"Colburn earned $25,000 to $35,000 annually working as a part-time special officer for Carlisle and relied on that income to supplement his full-time position as a Boxboro police officer"

I'm guessing his full time Boxboro salary is around 100K? Not only are cops in Carlisle and Boxboro presumably overpaid, but they have enough free time to work two jobs? Sounds like double dipping. Gov't needs to eliminate all this "special" and "detail" taxpayer robbery, especially in Carlisle and Boxboro. Give me a break.

You are a moron. Why don't you cut your ponytail, give up your Range Rover and go spend your Daddy's Trust Fund in Cambridge or something. The cops on details are not paid by the Taxpayers. They are paid by the company that hires them. Therefore you are getting free police services in your town and a ten percent billing fee. It seems to me that you cop-haters in Carlise should be happy that you don't have to pay for a real, full-time police department so you will have plenty of free time and money to do what you people from Carlise love to do such as Cow tipping and tree hugging

OK officer. Sorry I don't think one should be paid lucrative hourly wage for standing around on "detail". I saw a cop on roadwork detail so bored recently in Lowell that he was testing his balance tiptoeing on the edge of the sidewalk. Milk it sir.

I don't believe anyone should be allowed to work for two police departments at the same time. Full or part time it doesn't matter. Enough is enough.

I support police 100% but not the ones who are lazy, fat, carrying on affairs on duty etc. Work hard, do what you are being well paid to do and I will support you in all you do.

Hummm..."cow town" huh? I lived in one of those cow towns once. In one month an engineer strangled his wife; a church Deacon beat and killed his wife with a fishing weight and then tried to hire a hit man to kill the guy who helped plan it all to make it look like a break in; then there were two couples assassintated gangland style in a quiet corner of this little cow town. And yeah...it was considered a high end, safe, quiet place to live.
