Well of course Shelia wont debate in Groton or Ayer, why would a inexperianed candiate ever want to face a debate. It is worth note she wont debate anywhere else either. Considering her voting record (or lack thereof) and never having held an elected office before I'm sure there is no benefit to a debate, it would only harm her and reveal her complete lack of experience. Her mentor/puppeter was there of course sleazing around. I suspect she expects to just have the seat bequeathed to her by Hargraves who seems to feel that it is "his seat" to give to anyone he deems fit, talk about some one who thinks he is above everyone else. Im not sure how she thinks she is qualified to be a state rep, this isnt a race for a low level municipal post. This is important and experience counts

Harrington's taken a page from the Bob Hackgraves playbook: I'm too good for you unless you've got your checkbook out.
You want my vote

Thats true. If the politicians take all our money in taxes, they will be the only people being paid. I guess they will start complaining when they can't put food on their tables. HOW ABOUT "POLITICIANS TAKING A PAY CUT AND SAVING MONEY." Therefore I elected you. I say you will have to endure a cut in your income if you want to stayed employed as an elected official. It only seem right. "SERVANT OF THE PEOPLE."
servant |ˈsərv&# 601;nt|
noun
a person who performs duties for others, esp. a person employed in a house on domestic duties or as a personal attendant.
• a person employed in the service of a government. See also civil servant , public servant .

Just like she insulted veterans by marching in Memorial Day parades, now Harrington shows her elitism and insults the political process and district voters by being a no-show at this important event.

What I find most entertaining, is that they could have come to common ground. The Nissitissit school in Pepperell is still new, and has a great auditorium -- but then again, Pepperell was overlooked by Hargraves, so I'm guessing whoever follows in his footsteps....? Let's hope not.....Pangiotakos was our saving grace, even recently stood ground on busing cutbacks and had them re-instated (only to have the school committe try to take control of the money -- story for another blog)
-- now Pepperell will have no-one. Remember, those who live in Groton, completely look down their nose at Pepperell.

Apparently Harrington’s Real estate law firm is not doing well…oh I have an idea. Let me not do anything in Government ever, to include voting. and let me get a State Hack job Like my mentor I can then do nothing, make a bunch and retire with bennies I won’t have had to work for…See Bobbie taught me well

and MR GOAL….Sullivan set making these zones close to the boarder, by REDUCING the current sales tax from 6.25% DOWN to 3 %

It's obvious that most of these comments are by the same person who commented against Ayer/Shirley regionalization (Connie's campaign manager).
It was known from the beginning that Sheila wasn't attending and I'm glad she didn't because in my opinion it was a set up by Shulz and Sullivan!
As far as balancing 12 straight budgets....at what costs...higher taxes...a grid for employees that he flopped on...oh and there was a school overide in the late 90's supported by Connie. How about the CPA tax of 3% that Connie is proud of. This RINO will only turn to be a Democrat especially with his tree hugging friends supporting him!

I for one am happy that Harrington decided not to attend the forum. I'm sorry, but isn't Mr. Sullivan part of the Ayer Republican Town Committee??? That's like Harrington saying, I'll attend the forum, as long as my friend can moderate. Please, Sullivan is a hack just like everyone else in government. I want a candidate who can stand up for his/her principles, just like Harrington did by not showing up.

How would you determine Harringtons principles? No political offices held and not voting......ever? Does she even know where her town hall is?

I just heard the same thing from the Meas campaign. Were Weaver and Shapiro invited? I agree with most of the other comments, however, about Sheila Harrington. She should have been there.

Why would Harrington go to a forum hosted by an organization her opponent (Connie Sullivan) is apart of? I'm sure she would have agreed to go if it was at a neutral site(as both candidates were at the Pepperell Forum)...and not hosted by someone who wasn't impartial. This looks like such a set up, and I am glad that Harrington was able to see that. I look forward to a Harrington/Sullivan debate...where I know that no candidate has an advantage!

I was there last night...if you weren't, you missed absolutely nothing! I was one of the few people going just to watch, most of the people attending were obviously Sullivan friends & family, and then the media. I was thinking there was going to be a fairly large crowd...waste of my night!

Everyone has to be aware that during campiagns there are conflicts. So many events are scheduled and some too late to commit too. Poeple are going to be upset. They should realize though that it is better to be told no before the event than led to believe the candidiate is coming, then doesn't.

At times, candidates are supposedly sent info about an event, then later they find out it was sent to the wrong person. It happens all the time.

You have totally misunderstood this enerprise zone proposal. This 3% proposal is a reduction of the current sales tax that will put more money in people's pockets and help businesses create jobs.

Connie is a solid fiscal conservative and that it undisputable. Harrington announced at the Pepperell debate that 40% of her core supporters are Democrats ... talk about a RINO. Each town deserves a debate and the town's RTC is the proper host as was the case in Pepperell. Harrington ducked, plain and simple, and uses the lame excuse of Sullivan home turf. Connie would gladly attend an event hosted by Harrington's Groton RTC. How about Harrington leaving her Hargraves script and just mixing it up at every opportunity so the voters can decide? The voters deserve better.

Great attitude insulting these four fine candidates and insulting the Ayer RTC for their efforts. Why don't you try running for office if you think you know better. Why don't you hustle to get people to these events if you're disappointed with the turnout. The people there learned a lot about four excellent candidates and the newspaper coverage and the local cable coverage helps to educate voters too. I guess that's not enough for you Dumb.

I've seen a couple posts regarding a Pepperell Forum. I do receive the Pepperell Free press and do take the time to read thru it -- I'm guessing I missed a section somewhere along the lines. I also go out to the Town of Pepperell website farely often --- Can anyone tell me when the Pepperell Forum was published and in what paper?
Additionally -- do you know if they are replaying it on local access TV?
thank you
