Should Westbury and Carle Place Create a Special District Public Library?

An exploratory meeting was held April 1 to consider consolidating the Westbury Memorial Public Library and the Carle Place Public Library Funding District by creating a special district public library.

Let each town fund it's own services according to their wishes. Diversity is maintained and the services will match the needs and cultural wishes of the respective communities.

Orignally - I liked the idea of CP library access, but since I've been exposed to the Westbury library..it's outrageous how the Westbury children run about and misbehave. The selections of material are supportive of said behaviors and sub-culture. Ganster rap CDs DVDs and other 'useless' materials are in abundance. Go any given afternoon and its a video arcade for kids in the internet room. Where's the intellectual and creative stimulus? Well I'll get my own books,DVDs and internet. CP should either go it alone or just give it up. I will ad that the staff is decent, but they're fighting a loosing battle. We should not leave our library services in the incapale hands of Westbury trustees.

A way to merge without a big expense on rebuilding Carle Place School is to accept all Westbury resident West of Post Av. Most residence in this section send their children to private school because of the incompetence of Westbury School District and it's Superintendent. Constance Clark and her 300k salary could rob the part of Westbury it serves, West of Post Av.
Rigged elections, lawsuits and under-preforming School system should be kept operating in the smallest of areas.
Residents west of Post av. are deserving to have a good School district.
