I hope your newspaper has or will publish how-to articles from archivists on how it is sometimes possible to save pictures that have been in flood waters so that people will know to seek out help or try to do the preservation themselves.

That was 1913 when Ohio's Worst Disaster prompted the dynamiting of the Canal Lock at Main St. & Market in Akron Ohio.
Canal days were,.....well s h o r t !!!!!

are we forgetting about the people in barberton that were flooded out?
i had 5 ft of water in my basement, and my foundation wall collapsed, the past week has been a nightmare to say the least. were is the help? no one is taking resposibility for the storm sewers over flowing. we can't get flood insurance because 17th st in barberton is not a flood zone. were is the help from the city or from fema? is there any help out there?
