You'll find out that the troopers were probably @ fault with the reckless driving that I have witnessed in the past from our lovely OSP officers. Someone needs to put a leash on these out of control law enforcement. Before anyone reams me a new one I'm a second year Criminal justice (police science) student. I am learning about the actions that law enforcement take during certain situations. THEY NEED TO BE ON A LEASH before more people get hurt. OSP should be the first sense they are the top law in the state. Examples should be start @ the top

Kid, the first thing any investigator learns is to investigate, not to spout off with incomplete information. I have some concerns about your education so far, based on some of your grammar and word usage. I too have a criminal justice degree, but 25 years ago I knew there was a difference between academics and field practices. Good luck, but a change of attitude will be essential for a successful career. Also, developing a sense of compassion for the families of the dead and injured will be a critical skill you'll need.

Our prayers go out to these officers families.

Jim, I reconize your point and I agree with you to some respect, how some persuits are handled. But we will wait for the investagation before we call anyone at fault, weather could have been a factor. Well said 25 year old dog.

People the HIGH they get off of a police pursuit is incredible in it self. It doesn't matter if they are chasing someone or they were responding to a call for help. I have seen the destruction personally that this exact situation does to families and loved ones. Someone is not getting there loved one back today. That right there means they need a leash. Laws slowing them down. I understand they were going to help, but if a rule or guideline was in place maybe this would not have happened. KID I'm 40 years old been around the block a few times. Maybe not as much as you but, I've got time on the blocks

25yearlawdog I could see the anger build in your response to my post. Sorry if my grammar was a slight bit sloppy this is just a post of my comments and I didn't realize that I was being graded on my performance. I will try harder just for you sir and again I sorry.

Jim perrino,
Two years into a degree is far from an education, stay in school kid! Text book also does not always translate well into real life. I would suggest until you find out all the facts to be quiet, you have a right to an opinion but taking a strong side of an argument based upon simple knowledge of text book examples is dangerous and juvenile.

Yeah...a 2nd year CRIMINAL justice major really buys you a lot of credibility. Add to that, that you are from Oberlin and it buys you even less. It was a single car accident. It's pretty clear that he was at fault. But thanks for you insightful comment.

Mr. Perrino, I would like to say that all your books and class work amount to nothing until you step into the shoes of a working law enforcement officer for one day. Then you will see that much of what you learn in class does not prepare you for day to day police operations. Much of police work is split second decision making where you can't look to a book for operational advice. As the above posts have listed you have a great deal to learn before you can be a monday morning quarter back of a job you HAVE NEVER DONE. Certainly some personal issues towards Troopers are being expressed in your OPINIONS.

I am so sorry to hear of this. Being from Toledo, I know that Mercy/St V Hospital is a very good place to be, if you have to be in the hospital. I wish the other young man a speedy recovery.
