Dude, your partner is suppose to be living. Next time try one that's still warm and breathing.

I just got back from South East Africa on July 1st with a bite on my back. I went to the doc and they gave me an antibiotic for a spider bite. This thing hurt so bad that it would literally knock the wind out of me. I went home crying to my husband from the pain, he squeeze the bite and out came a larvae. The doc's were shocked too. I'm just wondering why my story isn't all over the news :p It was nasty. We have the thing on video. But in no way did I allow the thing to live in me as long as this guy did. We forced it out. I guess by using neosporin cream we were covering its air hole and that's why it was hurting so bad because it was trying to crawl out to catch some air. I still have a scab from where it was, but it's healed up real nice. One thing is for sure, it's the nastiest thing that has ever happened to me.

Y'all quit picking on Dave in Arizona. Don't you remember the Outer Limits (or was it Twilight Zone?) episode about the "earwig" which laid its eggs as it crawled from ear-to-ear through the brain of the victim? Dave is not the first one to imagine this particular torture technique -- somebody actually put its "close cousin" on TV back in the "golden age"!

The Night Gallery did that show called "The Caterpillar" in 1972.

reas'able,

Thanks for the link, but (probably due to my own computer illiteracy) I can't seem to locate any specifics about "The Caterpillar" episode on that site -- other than a title listing.

"One of the most disturbing Night Gallery episodes, The Caterpillar, aired during the series' second season and is considered one of its best. In it a scheming colonel (Laurence Harvey) falls victim to his own murder plot and ends up suffering the agony of a burrowing, pregnant earwig. The bug lays eggs in the mans head, which must burrow out when hatched. Based on a short story, the episode helped fuel a fear of parasitic insects just waiting to sneak into people's ears. "and the female lays eggs".

stop dissin'the earwig. Earwigs do not get in people ears, plus they are one of the very few insects that actually cares for their eggs, feeds their young and will defend them to the death!
