My family spent one week every summer at the Shore Plaza when my sister and I were young. Now I have a family of my own and we take them to Wildwood every year as well. I was sad to hear about the fire from my dad, but surprised when I went to visit my parents a few weeks ago and my mom had a Shore Plaza post card on her fridge. I remember the pool and cafe on the roof and the great time we had sitting on the balcony people-watching. I have great memories there and I hope they re-build some day.

You must be white trash, that's all that is in Wildwood. Apes in wife-beaters and IROC Camaros. Smells like body odor up in that whole town.

I was just sharing some memories of my trips to the Plaza with my new husband when I decided to google some pictures of the boardwalk and was shocked to read about the fire. I only got to enjoy the Plaza and the boardwalk a few times with an ex-boyfriend and his grandparents but the pizza is unforgettable along with the generous hospitality given by Rosemary and her family. Before moving to Arizona, my ex and I went back to the Plaza twice that summer to collect as many memories as we could. I am very glad we did. While I am saddened by the loss I am also excited to see the phoenix rise up from the ashes. I am looking forward to bringing my new family to the boardwalk and making new memories.
