The people who are trying to say people are wrong for asking the goverment(medicaid) to help pay for braces(something that may need medicl attention) is just plain fucking iggornant. I could see if someone who did drugs and just used there help to buy drugs or stuff like that, they shouldnt get help but if its someone who has payed into the damn system for years then i dont see why not ovbiously its there to help so why not take it. Why dont all of u smart ass people send your mean comments to the oeople who dont deserve help like those selling foodstamps to buy drugs?? And since u want to bring heaven and hell into this u would be the one to most likely goto hell for downgrading people. Who are you to think your better than anyone??? Clearly u need to lose ur job and go broke to see how hard is really is. I guarentee for a FACT those of u who said u would never ask the government for anything is a damn lie because if u "say" u care about ur family u would do anything to take care of them even if it meant government funding. Unless ur one of those people who can say "mommy daddy" i need to borrow money then ur really not better. Ill tell u this if i need help im going to get it if it means government funding and u all who have something to say can shove it up your ass because i know if it will help me and my family i will do it. Suckers.
You are extremely good at writing run on sentences. I have no doubt that you would get all of the govt funding that you could.

You're not making a better life for your family. The govt is if they are paying for everything you have.

Yeah, braces are not a necessity. Wait until you get a job so you can afford them. There are people with way worse teeth than having an overbite, and they don't have braces. You want your son to look better, not be "healthier." If your dentist says he has a medical contain, then he/she is a whack job. If you're worried about him getting made fun of then you're shallow. Many people get made fun of for worse things.

Okay, so I hope Medicaid pays for psychotherapy visits because her kid is sure going to need counseling after every kid in the school makes fun of him for having jacked up teeth. I'm sure if you had buck teeth and large gaps in them, then you'd want some help getting braces, too. And you cannot tell me that you would not be a little self conscious about it. Kids today are cruel. Hell, even adults today are cruel. Braces today might mean a 2nd job interview for him tomorrow. I know it's not right, but employers DO look at appearance. It's easy to sit on your pedestal when the legs on it are not crooked.
He's a kid. He's not going to be applying for jobs any time soon. Plus, people get made fun of for way worse things than having braces. I don't see you addressing that issue.

I have a full time job and can't afford dental insurance for my kids (since their biological father doesn't care) two of my three get made fun of because if their teeth. Lets remember when we were young and people made fun of us. Wait...maybe you were one of the snotty punks who made fun of people.... I think Medicaid SHOULD pay for braces. Insurance is insurance. If you find this to be harsh maybe your rudeness was harsh to others..
And you were probably one if those kids who made fun of people if they didn't have as fancy things as you, or if they acted different. You clearly want finer things in life, so if the show fits...

You know when I was seven my brother who was nine started mowing lawns and had like thirty a week. There is no reason your kid can't do that too. Little precious can work to EARN his or her braces. Not steal from other people's pay checks!

The purpose of Medicaid is to provide medical necessary treatment to patients- remove decay, extract an infected tooth- esthethetic, cosmetic treatment is not medically necessary. Teeth that have spacing between them, an overbite, an
Underbite do not qualify for medical necessity. You should see in new York however how many kids are getting braves covered by Medicaid ., in my opinion as a dentist, this is a mistake. This money would be better served to provide some root canal treatments and crowns instead. Sometimes braces are a medical necessity, a child
May need jaw surgery for a very bad underbite or have a bad open bite and not be able to have proper mouth form and function. Overall though Medicaid as it is defined for what it covers medical necessary treatment should not include orthodontic treatment at taxpayers expense.

I apologize for the unsolicited opinions from these so called adults. I worked a job that paid 63,000 a year, got laid off and lived on my savings for a year and a half before I finally lost everything. I needed assistance and since I've been working for 16 years, I darn well deserved it.

I received medicaid and 200$ a month. For all of you squawking birds out there, do the math. I paid way more than that in taxes every year. Heck, I pay more than that now in taxes every two weeks and I pay my taxes for civil servants, paved streets, and heck yeah, assistance when I need it. I darn well deserved more than 200 a month. Heck just give me 50% of what I've been paying for the past 16 years.

seriously folks the arguing is making you look like your own kids with the attitude and if you mother of two believe in heaven or hell your mouth would have stopped awhile ago. If I were you I would worry about direction of your own soul going to hell and hopefully you do not teach your children to follow in your mouth.
Matthew 5:22
But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says,‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire.
Matthew 15:11
It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.”
Ephesians 4:29
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
Ephesians 5:4
Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving.

An overbite is NOT a serious medical condition! No dentist would tell you that he has to have braces to function! I agree with the previous post, wait until you have another job that offers dental insurance! He will survive without them I promise!
Actually, I just had an appointment for my son. He explained, and even showed me, how it effects how much son eats and speaks. And that braces are in fact a possible need and referred me to an orthodontist. So, yes your child can NEED braces for health reasons.

WOW!!!!! my husband and I have both worked since we were fifteen years old. My job got eliminated first, his six figure position eliminated shortly after. Quote you have a reckless, rude and ignorant responce. I too have two young boys I am raising right. when something as devastating as what we are going through happens, you better get down to the medicaide office asap. My sons play almost every sport. If they were to injure themselves and be required to have a hospital stay it would ruin us. I would have to say Mommy was to oroud to acceot the help I have paid for, for thirty eight years so we have to leave our house and move into an apt. I have a Quote for you...Pride comes before the fall....Shame on you for being so unkind and reckless with your adviice. Of course this person should be on assistance...this is what its there for. Not the lifetime losers who make it a way of life. Get your braces if you can !!! Its your money you are spending. Quote, im glad you thimk uour so perfect. God brings people like you to their knees.....good luck. being a prideful douche bag!!!!!!!!!!
