Husband works, I clean.

We alternate cooking nights and that's about it. He helps out on the weekend if anything needs to be done, but it's pretty sensible that if he's the one working almost 12 hour days, then it's reasonable that I should be taking care of the house if I'm not going to work. Now, if I go out and get a job, then we split chores.

It's about doing your fair share. No, women don't need to be in the kitchen 100% of the time, but neither should men. Share your responsibilities and quit whining. Fuck.

I get a real sense of pride working outside of the home full time and managing my home full time. I developed systems long ago to get it all done. In return my husband works full time and manages the areas of the home that men naturally have more experience - yard, vehicles, outside maintenance. I think there has been such a distance put between husband and wife by media and new age thinking that husbands and wives have forgotten how to share the joys of making a home a cherished place for the family. Men are demasculated if they are constantly hounded by their wives. Wives are wives to husbands, not their mother. And women shouldn't want to be so macho - I guess the PC word is 'independent'. It is ok to need and want a man to do things men do.

I agree girl. I am the same kinda wife. To keep him happy, cooking, cleaning, and loving is what my man needs. More women could learn from that

Both husband and wife should clean the house. Even if the only one who works house is the husband he should at least clean up after himself and he should feel obligated to help cleanup after his children when time permits. My piont is this, no one should have to clean up after another adult male or female. And it is unfair to everyone to be sloppy in a house because everyone deserves a place to live. Mature people cleanup after themselves period.

You just made the dumbest statement on topix, and that is saying something ! Too bad you don't have a real life. Have fun " being of service to your man" . He is probably screwing someone else. Please don't come back and tell us how great. Your sex life is. I have found that the ones who brag the most usually have just the opposite . Lol

What's your point? Even if I were working full time, I would still do chores around the house. My husband and I would probably alternate cooking, but I'd primarily take care of the laundry and more of the cleaning. The fact that I'm not working just means I take care of it all, especially with him being deployed.

So perhaps you should butt out of my life and worry about yourself, sweetheart.

My woman complains about having to keep the house clean too. I work 10+ hours a day to provide, and all she has to do is clean about 30 min to an hour a day, and make sure the kid goes to school and meet him when he gets home. Heaven forbid I ask her to cook anything. She just doesn't have the time. Hell, if we switched, I wouldn't have no problem, but she makes it out like an hour of cleaning and an hour of cooking kills her. So, I guess it's only fair that after I work all day I have to do this too. Damn lazy women nowadays.
sounds like my husband I hear this exact thing from him everyday but he does not see everything I have to do when he is not home and kids also
