cracker barrel needs to look at thier so called managers and see why they treat thier employees with no respect they are not lazy they are the hardest working people i have ever seen

Well I think Crackel Barrell service and food has gone to crap. It's always been my favorite place to go out and eat. Not so much these days...

I read on the St. Louis Craiglist that to keep certain people from destroying their business at Cracker Barrel, Red Lobster, and Golden Corral, certain things are being added to food to help insure those people stay away. It is kind of ridiculous how certain people steal all the food they can in their plastic bag lined purses.

If people knew what issues this place has they would do a class action suit to correct issue with treatment of employees. I personally have worked 10 hours and no time to take even a pee. When asked if I can go to the bathroom they say you are only working 34.2 hours and if you can not do your work we will need to find another who can. Or they will give you more work than you can do in the short time you have and then tell you you can not do your job. They have a par system that you need to pass to get a raise. When you get close to par they will give you so much to do you get a bad review and can not take par. They have a lot of tricks to keep you from better pay and the who company has a no over time policy and tell managers to work employes 30 hours or less for all. They hire a lot of Mexican workers that have fake paperwork and pay them a lot less at our store. Even the fake paper workers do not get 40 hours. They hire and hire and hire as people leave. The other manager joke about how they can replace anyone in 2 days or less. This is part of the grand old opra. The logo is pleasing people, but treat employees as replaceable is the manager moto for us. The real way to get hours is to be in good with a manager or know something they can get fired for and use it to keep your hours. For employes as soon as a employee starts to talk about insurance we are told to cut the hours back for them and keep them from the required hours to get any benefits. When enrollment is over give them back hours and tell them if they work hard next year they can enroll if they can do better. It is all about money and profit as the new CEO is a 17% owner. There is a goal to replace all employess that are over the 9.00 hr rate and get the new employee started cheap. Forget about food safety as it is all about speed of cooking and pork fat and fake butter.

Sorry but I would definitely be looking for a better place to work , sounds screwed up to me!!!

I always make it a point to stay away from cracker barrell. I witnessed a manager bring a young lady to tears while standing outside of a motel room smoking a cig. Its sad really, people think bullying only goes on in schools but bullying at the workplace is very real, and it is usually the higher ups picking on their employees, I called the incident in but I doubt anything was ever done, especially if these

I used to love the place. I ate there a couple nights ago and it was awful. It took us a lot longer to get are food than usual.too. It has gone downhill bad.

Without a doubt, the WORST JOB and/or company, I've ever worked for! Complete and utter joke of a company! I encourage everyone to keep on driving past the Cracker Barrel sign! I was a back of house employee who's main job was Back Up Cook. I've also been on Grill, Prep, and Dish as well. I've also served,(front of house) for many years at places like, Outback Steakhouse, Olive Garden, Shorty's Mexican Roadhouse,(N.H.) and compared to any other restaurant job, this was hands down the worst! Hours cut from nearly 40, 4 years ago, to around 17 to 30 hours, as the years past. Insurance cut after serveral years. It's true, they LIE to you and tell you that it's your responsibility to keep your hours above the cut off. Funny?! I DID NOT MAKE the schedule! General Manager was on a power trip! No people skills what so ever. It's true about not being offered breaks. Not having enough time to complete amount of work expected to complete for shorter shifts. A totally THANKLESS JOB! I hardly ever heard a manager say, "Thanks Guys!" Thanks Girls!" "You guys made it happen!" It was instead, "Why are you still on my clock?!" If Corporate is reading, you guys should be ashamed of yourselves! Honestly. I never liked you guys before I gave it a shot there, and I can promise you, I CAN'T STAND the company now. The food SUCKS! The restaurant SUCKS! The country store is IMPOSSIBLE to simply get in our out of, thanks to crap piled up in every direction, blocking the doors. Ever hear of a path? The people that work there mostly say the same thing, "Company sucks, but I like the people I work(ed) with. Peace.

Is amy still a manager there? If she is, there is your problem!! She was my manager at Ryan's and one of the reasons I quit there!! When things don't go her way she can bully too!! It's one thing to be a manager and treat your employees with respect, but with her, I don't think she knows what the word respect means. She is all about $$ and there were reasons Ryan's got audited so many times while she was there. I won't go to cracker barrel because she is the manager there!! She needs to just give up the management jobs period!!

i cerrently work at cracker berrel....its a shit job they give me close then open hours all the time we only have 5 dishwashers and im one of em i work like 48 hours a week and will be lucky if i get to go take a restroom break....and when i do the managers are like why the f*** u takeing a break we need u to work i highly advise anyone not to work there unless u have to......i wouldent be working there if it wasnt for me haveing a kid as soon as i find a new job im fileing a lawsuit against them for over working me and not haveing 8 hours between shifts and no bathroom breaks im just stockpileing things to use againts them in court like managers yelling at me for takeing breaks and my shedule.....wich they will not give us a copy of.....i have written down on a calender i inted to keep and show at court

I worked as a dishwasher at cracker barrel and have been for a 11months. Its a great place to work if u like feeling defeated at the end of every shift. everyone bullies everyone and yes there is illegal mexicans. half of the Mexican ladies r named after American cars and can't speak a lick of english. in a way ur forced to bond wit ppl cuz when the gm starts bringing down hell fire and brimstone ppl get scared of being fired.

Yes she is still there! And she is a problem. She screams and swears at people, and just tries to get you mad so you'll say something back so she can walk you out the door. I had harassment problems with her, Diane, and even the GM Mike (including sexual harassment.) After I cried one day at work and another manager made me fill out a complaint and send in-it didnt do anything just like i thought, but they did send me a very nice letter letting me know they arent doing anything about it. While they couldnt be mean to me directly (no retaliation policy) they surely didnt make it easy after. I ended up getting another job thankfully, and turned in my 2 week notice with a smile. By far the worst working conditions I have ever experienced, and for such terrible pay. I had 10 hr shifts all the time with no breaks and so much work to do everyday that I couldnt get it finished with trying to help the guest too.
