Need to look at the government for that. The government perpetuates racism with its separation of ethnicities in this country. When everyone is born in America ,they become an American and only American, not some hyphenated form of American. I have met black people who have moved from Africa to here. I guess that can be African-American, they share a dual nationality. I have also met a white African who had moved here. I guess he was an African-American too, once again duel nationalities. Most of the black people in this country today may have their roots in Africa, but their lineage goes back for many generations in America. They are no more "African-American" than I am Irish-American or German-American or European- American or , well you get the point (or you should). When the goverment starts recognizing everyone as one people, with no distinctions made between the various different ethnicities, then maybe the healing can begin.

Why would the govt want to do that. That separation (among many) keeps us divided and weak.

That's the truth. As long as we focus our hate on each other, the government can continue to make slaves us of all.

Racism is natural. It won't end. The only option is to try to minimize violence/oppression in lawful ways.

Prejudice and fear are natural, racism and the hate between the black and white ethnic groups are not. There are many different ethnic groups living around here, and while I see a little bashing on Mexicans, I don't see any hating on Jews, Asians, Indians, or any of the others. Which, I am very happy is the case. No, this black/white struggle is a ongoing conflict engineered by powerful people and kept alive by the same. Unfortunately, the two main ethnic groups, allow themselves to be used so easily.

You don't see Jew bashing because there is not a significant population of Jews here. Ditto other races. Blacks and hispanics are the big minority populations here which is why (in my view) the hate is directed at them. I see a lot of it. I think it's ignorant, and yes also a result of manipulation by the establishment. But people like being ignorant and they like being manipulated. That's what the entire consumer/entertainment culture is about, I think. It's gotten to the point where I think it is more likely the natural human tendency to be this way rather than the alternative, which is that a majority of people are just crazy/selfish/stupid.

But as usual, the masses continue to play into their hand. We are all slaves to the system, nothing will ever change as long as the majority of us continue to focus on each other & not the bigger picture. Color is only skin deep, get past it, get over it already so we can push for true change.
