It isn't real. A faux-Absinthe liqueur called Absente, made with Artemisia abrotanum instead of Artemisia absinthium (wormwood), is sold legally in the United States. Real Absinthe is illegal to sell in the US.

Thanks for the information. I did some research that indicated Absinthe was now legal in this country. I will look further.

Used to drink it when I lived in Europe back in the 60's. Good stuff.

It is legal if you can find it for a reasonable price. That was one of the embargoes that Bush lifted.
