Hey any iPhone users, every time I attempt to do an update to my phone it fails and puts my phone into recovery and then I ahve to attempt to restore to several times before it eventually does restore it. Well tonight no such luck, I have tried to restore it and it keeps failing when trying to "prepare iphone for restoral" and keeps me in recovery mode. I do not have apple care and all the online help isn't doing the trick. Does anyone have any help or tips to offer? Also can I take the phone into an apple store to help or no since no apple care? thanks in advance.

I would try to restart your computer and try again. Do you have the latest iTunes (10.1.5)? That is also important. I'm assuming you have an iPhone 4?

Android or GTFO.
In my experience, iPhones don't suck. I haven't had any issues with mine, and I've had it for awhile. Even your precious Android could have a glitch. That's true for any piece of technology.

One or two glitches doesn't mean that the phone sucks. However, a basket full of issues can mean that. I get that you want to be competitive about it, but they're just phones.

Google search how to perform a "hard reset" on the phone. It will consist of holding several of the buttons down at the same time for a certain length of time. This is really the only recovery technique for the user.

I had the same problem. It is the computer . If u don't have a fast enough USB port then it don't transfer fast enough and phone locks up. Try it on another computer that is newer that will take car of it

I took it up to Apple and bam it restored on their Mac first try. Don't know, my pc is fairly new less than a year but hey, it works now and somehow didn't even lose pictures or anything for that matter! Am having to manually reinstall alllllll 231 apps BUT hey ;) and now with iCloud this shouldn't be an issue in the future.

I am not reinstalling all, many are unnecessary and unused and I chose to not add them back. And they're Mostly free, I've paid for 4 apps ever! My son has just about as many games on this thing as I do though.

Here is the most useful way for you to fix iPhone stuck in recovery mode issue:
Step 1: Disconnect the data cable and turn off your iPhone.
Step 2: Press the "Home" button and connect your iPhone to the computer with data cable, and then release the "Home" button.
Step 3: Now you have enter into recovery mode successfully.
Step 4: It is very easy for you to exit recovery mode. Please press both the "Home". button and "Power" button at the same time until the LOGO "white apple" appeared on the screen.
