What a lousy bunch of misfit's. Last week my cable box caught fire and almost burned down my house. Luckily I got home early. To make a long story short I called to get a replacement and they promised a small credit to help cover the burn mark on my entertainment center. I agreed $10 should do it. So I spend over an hour of my time and $14 in gas to make the trade and get everything back to normal. Low and behold the Supervisor Mrs Henderson thought because I am white and she thought I should be treated with disrespect and should not be given my $10 credit.

How low can a company be. After I put up with their questionable bait and switch tactic's. I put up with their shady billing practices. I even brought their cable box back even after they almost burned my house down. Then for her to think I would allow racism and poor treatment is completely inappropriate

Basic math would show that I spend $1700 a year with charter and now they make $0 over a $10 credit. Even after I spent $14 in gas to bring it back.

Mrs Henderson you are a wonderful supervisor. Your company is in the middle of bankruptsy and you squander even more customer's over your racial prefences. Just so you know it's wrong to base general service on the heritage of the customer and it's also against the law. So we wlll have the chance to discuss this in detail in a short time. Till then I recommend that everyone stop using charter cable. If they burn down your home and everything in it then they will assume no responsibilty and you could be left homeless. What a pethetic company

Thanks Abby. Your post was much appreciated. Honestly I am still beside myself over the entire deal. Unfortunately I am only 2 block's from the a levee that's already 10 foot above the flodd limit, and in the other direction I am only 1 block away from where they blew the section's 2 and 3 out. So needless to say we are only dropping in occasionally to make sure that we havent had a levee break and destroy our building. So needless to say we are dealing with much bigger issue's over the last few week's and for the next few week's or at least till the water receed's and we know we can move back home.

In addition I once again want to thank you for the post. I am very easy to work with and you and me could have solved the issue in only a few minute's. Unfortunately I wasn't dealing with you I was instead dealing with the sikeston office and a supervisor Henderson. It is truly a shame thatall this turned out so badly. I have spoke with an attorney and made arrangement's to send a copy of the court document's to nearly every media outlet in the nation as well as many newspaper's as well. So needless to say I was still very upset after this happened. It just added extra pressure to my flood worries. I even tried to explain to Mrs Henderson about what was already happening and I didnt need any extra hassles. However she persisted and refused to honor the credit agreement that the phone operator promised. What could have been a successful transaction was ruined because of descrimination and dishonest dealing's. So as I explained to Mrs Henderson I do intend on picketting the Sikeston Office and making for sure that every newspaper recieve's the court document's and hearing dates, and well the information on how many times a year a charter cable box catches on fire and potentially puts someones home at risk. In addition we will be asking people to come forward with their own personal experience of charter's shading billing practice's and bait and switch technique's. I certainly hate to have to do all of this, but I was very clear with Mrs Henderson that I just wanted to solve it get my $10 credit and get it solved. But she had no intention of helping me I guess and she really left me no alternative. I did ask for her supervisor's # and the legal dept # so that I could call and likely work something out. But once I left I realized there was no supervisor # and the she gave me the # to legal enforcemnt or something and I only got a recording. Anyway I appreciate your help, But I do doubt that this can be settled outside of a courtroom. But I appreciate the offer.

They do cheat people on the promo's. They got me to order with a promo and then charged me full price on my bill and would not change it. They also did it to my 83yr old mom.

If you called in regarding the issue, the customer service rep on the phone should have been the one to issue the credit, as well as offered a credit for a service visit fee for a tech to come change the box out! I am a call center rep for an outsource of charter and that's what I would have done! It's only right!

Yes normally that would be the case, but we could hardly schedule an appointment because of the flooding issue's. that is why we took it to the office instead

Yep I'm more than pissed. I am typing this before charter shuts off our net later today. I know pay your bill! The simple answer is i would love to if charter had not raised it to 2 and 1/2 times the normal rate. Wha!! Why you ask? Simple answer because charter are a bunch of swindlers they like to not notify you when your package is up and then charge you twice as much and tell you to eat a dick (well in more polite jargon)When you tell them your bill is wrong. Charter says we matter, really that's why they have all the class action law suits pending right now. I'm sure we matter. I do promise i will continue to post as much as i can from my iphone about charter lol. I already call the consumer reports division of channel 2 stl. I can't wait until Fios comes through they will wipe charters crooked ass off the map. I'm sure ill get a were sorry you matter email after this post all i can say is they can eat my ass fuck charter and they're reps.

I bet you have a lot of negitive things to say about many companies dont you??? But really your just a low class individual who talks about a company poorly and leaves no reason why? I however adore Charter!! Im also an employee and find it very easy to call in and have any problem Ive ever experienced handled in a very timely manor. Only problem I have these days with companies is forgien call centers (just believe if you work on the phones for an american company you should speak english fluently-all around it makes everyone happy!=>), but with every company has their contractors and those ppl have bad days too>>> Sh**iot happens.... I mean really Charter has waaay more people who love them than hate them. I deal with customers and employees on a daily bases and the days only get faster and i do more reconnects than disconnects. Charter is great for my area and my reception and service, welp no complaint @ the current moment! Never have I seen "Charter" have someone get online and actually care about you again going the extra mile!! So sweet!! Gold Star Charter in my book!!

I wonder if anyone else is having this problem.... I have two Charter cable boxes and they both run really.. really HOT. One is in our living room and it sits on top of a solid oak blanket type chest along with the TV. It has great ventilation so nothing is sitting next to it, on it or beside it . This last week when I was cleaning I went to pick it up and shocked to feel how .. hot.. not warm to the touch but HOT. It was so hot it even cracked the wood underneath it. And has now wrecked this family heirloom piece of furniture. I also have a Charter cable box in our master bed room with the cable box sitting on a dresser and sure enough the same thing again.. so hot to the touch that you almost drop it from your hands when you pick it up. And behold.... that dresser is also cracked in the exact spot where the cable box sat... I now have the cable boxes jacked up stones to allow air to flow underneath the boxes. However, that is not going to fix the thousands of $$$$ worth of furniture that these boxes wrecked. Has this happened to anyone else and how did Charter handle it?
And what is the chances of these catching fire?
