I think the current owners need to fix all the code violations before someone gets hurt.

I bet there are several other places in the Cape area that would have just as many serious infractions if checked. Sounds like they were just too busy to keep up with a bunch of small issues that snowballed and have since been rectified.

Yes, there are several places and that's why I don't dine there.
The customer base at the Gordonville restaurant has been on the decline for awhile, so I doubt they're too busy to keep up.
A business can not and will not run itself. Employees don't have the interest an owner should. Absentee owner = no employee interest/shortages/downhill slide. Disgruntled employees = poor service/staff turnover/decline in customer base. Bottom line = For Sale sign.
Look back at the history of these inspections. It went from a few infractions to the current status. For a small business like this there shouldn't be that many if management is on top of things.
Once a business loses its customers, that's it. It's difficult if not impossible to gain them back. Thus the current situation.
Sacrificing quality of product, quantity of product, while increasing menu costs is a no win situation.

I don't get the impression any one is stirring any thing. It sounds like a customer is simply concerned about the food safety.

Really? Business is way up? That would be great if true. Gift card purchases, banquet room rental, catering, servers tips and receipts show otherwise.
Very clean? Health dept. didn't agree.
Well run? How? The owners are rarely there.
What you describe is the way it once was, sadly, it isn't that way presently. JMO
