The essential points of the HCR act were written by the Heritage Foundation, the countries biggest conservative think tank. I have a hard time thinkin they wrote anything that would negatively impact business.

It's being used as a political tool now, so they've changed their tune.

The heritage foundation writes much of the GOP legislation in congress. Legislation that I happen to agree with. I agree with this act that they wrote, irregardless of how it's being spun for political purposes.

All of their studies show that this is good legislation for the business and public sectors, and will drive pricing down across the board.

It's what they said when they passed it in Massachusetts and its no less true now.

I don't care who got it passed, fact is its good that it was.

Romney won't have the votes in congress to repeal it, so it's a done deal, wherever it takes us.

The heritage foundation is a great conservitive group ... They would never write anything like that uppity SOB passed! In fact I don't know one conservitive that wants a health care bill ... I for one like the health system the way it is .... We would all be better off if liberals would leave things alone .... People have it in ther heads that you need health care... Social security ... Medicare ... You would all be better off
To start your own retirement and get your own healthcare trust me!!!!

Then you don't know me.

Romney had accomplished a longstanding Democratic goal—universal health insurance—by combining three conservative policies. Massachusetts would help the uninsured buy private insurance; it would create a deregulated online marketplace; and it would require that everyone carry insurance. Uninsured citizens no longer would use the emergency room as a primary-care facility and then fail to pay their bills.“It’s a Republican way of reforming the market,” Romney said later that day.“Because, let me tell you, having thirty million people in this country without health insurance and having those people show up when they get sick, and expect someone else to pay, that’s a Democratic approach. That’s the wrong way. The Republican approach is to say,‘You know what? Everybody should have insurance. They should pay what they can afford to pay. If they need help, we will be there to help them, but no more free ride.’”

Although some influential libertarians condemned Romney, most conservatives praised the plan. Robert Moffit, a policy expert at the conservative Heritage Foundation, which helped write parts of the law, spoke at the ceremony.“The real trick is to retain what is best in American health care while correcting its deficiencies and expanding upon its indisputable benefits,” he said.“Massachusetts has done just that.”

They should have stuck to their guns and passed it nationally while GW was in office, but they didn't have a GOP congress.

The liberals stole the idea, and claimed it was their new plan! The GOP should have simply come out and said, thank you for passing our plan and taken the credit they were due!

I will vote for Romney not because his plan was passed nationally, but because I understand he has a good plan for this country including one the liberals have already passed.

Romney wiill never repeal it, and he knows he won't, but I understand his need for votes an don't gainsay his pandering.

Just wish it would not have been necessary, if he'd claimed the credit that he deserved, the general population would already support his plan and it would have been a golden moment.

It's so unbecoming, right or wrong, to set back and complain about a person actually trying to do something about a problem -- yet offering no real suggestions yourself. Pathetic.
Yeah but bitchen about bitchen is better somehow.

Indeed. It side steps the blatant hypocrisy of bitching about someone trying to fix a problem you yourself couldn't.

Lol, if your going by the guest from Katy Texas tag, that's not the same person every time. I use "guest" and it says I'm in Katy Texas when I'm in Park Hills MO, at my business. But correctly says I'm in Farmington MO, When I'm home. I don't really agree with the other "guests from Katy Texas" on many points, and I never really feel a need to call names. Doesn't accomplish much.

The answer is no. This health care plan is designed to keep illegals and white trash like inbreds you from abusing the system and driving up my health care premiums. Now, if you're serious about moving to Germany, please leave. I, however, am staying.
