I have been looking for a apartment in Cape for a while now. I can't find a clean place that will allow cats. The price on rent has gone up around $100 per unit in the last few years. Is it places like SOTO and RGC that are to blame for this? I'm wanting a place for around $400 1BR. Is that around in the city of Cape?

I don't think you'll find any apartment anywhere for $400 a month.

pets stink up the place. oh sure your pet is perfect right? never poops or barfs on the floor huh? if you haven't noticed everything costs more. buy a house and stop paying rent if you hate landlords so much. then you can have as many stinkin pets you want.

Yeah so where did you get that I hate landlords? My cat is very clean and doesn't poop or barf on the floor. Not everyone can just go out and buy a house. My house just sold and I need something for a few years that will allow a cat. I can understand dogs and cats that are not fixed. Yeah everything has gone up, but peoples pay checks.

Rent has gone up. I don't really blame it on any agency though. They have to make money too. Rather, it's really the tenants that are to blame.(No, not all, I am also a tenant.) I've seen apartments and homes that are totally destroyed after the rentor moves out. If everyone would respect the property, the rent wouldn't have to be raised. It's raised to cover the cost of the repairs that have to be done. Have you looked into a small home for rent? I know that the City of Cape's website has a long list of landlords on there somewhere. You could start calling. Good luck to you.

Rentals have seen an increase in price since 2008 because there is a larger demand for them. Everything from foreclosures to stiffer loan prerequisites are driving people to rent.

As for Cape, I've been a renter for the past 7yrs and Cape is shit with regard to pets. I have a cat and dog which are super well mannered and the only accidents which occur are the occasional barfings.lol Seriously, landlords are LAZY. My experience in Cape tells me landlords in the area rarely check on their properties and tenants. It seems they prefer to do NOTHING unless something actually breaks or needs fixing. This may be because it's a bitch to evict people but you know it's also about money and time invested. They want to invest as little of both as possible and yet get the best return possible. excuses, excuses.

I've seen plenty of places with only tile, wood, or linoleum floors which still won't allow pets with or without an additional charge. This is bullshit. It's also bullshit when they don't regularly paint walls, replace flooring, and update their shit while in-between tenants.

RGC is one of the trashiest places around . They rent out trashed places for outrageous amount of rent

manages less than 1% of all the property in Cape. Those renters are in those units for a reason. Do you know why.

Yeah from what I have seen RGC is the worst in Cape. Good thing they only have 1%, but they got signs all over the place infront of apartments. Oh well I guess good thing come to the ones that wait.

You better figure too, the cleaning deposit with NOT be refunded. I rented a apt for years and the landlord did as little as legally possible as far as needed repairs to HIS property. I kept up my part of the bargain. Notice I was never EVICTED for being unclean nor did he give me letters of warning that I was unclean. I was not. But he kept the $600 cleaning deposit anyway. Just figure, in Cape, your not getting the cleaning/security deposit back unless you hire a cleaning crew and when you leave the property is ready to show and the lazy landlord doesn't need to do a thing. Use to be Landlords were good to good tenants, not anymore, its every man for himself in this economy.

David Bean has a few one bedroom apartments for $395/month, but they don't have any washer and dryer hook up and no central air, but a 110 A/C. He also has a few two bedroom apartments for $495/month with washer and dryer hook ups with central air and heat.

Some people bag on David Bean here, but I have no complaints. If I need a service call then it has always been taken care of. I guess the people complaining are those that don't pay their rent and end up getting evicted and being butt hurt about it.

I rented from RGC for 2 years and had absolutely no problem with the company or the quality of my apartment.
