Actually, the devout only take them off long enough to put on a different one. I have a ob/gyn Dr. friend who told me he had a woman giving birth in one and she had complications and needed a c-section and she didn't want to take it off even for surgery! They convinced her to remove it by telling her she was risking dying later from infection...

Well what if she wouldn't have taken it off.would she have been denied medical help?Would she had to have signed papers about leaving the Muslim wrap on?

They would have used extra surgical drapes to cover her upper body but she agreed to take it off. This happened in the 80's. I'm sure now she would have to sign something. It's really no different than "faith healing" practiced by Christian scientists.
