OMG! The owners are Gods gift to the martial arts. Just ask them! They have hundreds of students, There were no real martial arts schools, or instructors in the area until they opened. One is Arrogant, one is fat, the other on is old and could kick a Keebler elf in the head. I am going to sign-up next week.

I have personal experience with D. Ivie. My son was his student for a couple of years. He is not currently a student because of a move for educational purposes. My son hasnt been in class for a year- but he will tell you that when he does go back to classes during summer break- will be with Mr. Ivie. I have seen first hand DeRay's ability to motivate a child. My son became really sick and had to take a helicopter ride to Children's Hospital- DeRay was the first person he asked to see before leaving and when I called, he arrived in minutes. I watched the tears well up in DeRay's eyes as they prepared him for transport and it was obvious how much he cared about my son. That is my experience- and even though he hasn't been in class lately, my son still refers to him as 'my instuctor' and can't wait to resume training.

I have grandchildren who are students at Peak Performance and it has been very good for them. The Ivie's are great with kids. I have gone several times to watch their children's classes. They have a special needs student that attends private lessons and he is treated with a great deal of respect and patience. His mother is quite happy with her child's results. A few weeks ago the students raised money for St. Jude's with a "Kicking Cancer", they collected money for the number of kicks they performed. My grandchildren were so proud of their involvement even though they are 6 and 8 years old. The school raised somewhere over $3,000.00. I appreciate what they do for kids and the fact that they teach the children the importance of helping others...like St. Jude's. I strongly encourage you to check out the school.

I do not have a problem at all with Ted Ivie- I haven't seen him in a while, but he is a great person/instructor as well. My comment wasn't meant to take anything away from him, my son just spent more time training with DeRay and he has never been an arrogant, self centered, ass to my son. If he has acted that way toward anyone, I would suspect maybe they deserved it.

So sad that this topic should be about helping someone to find a taekwondo school, hopefully for a child, and you find it necessary to be so negative and use such awful language. Is all this really necessary to make your point? I certainly don't think so. It seems that the Ivie's have rubbed you the wrong way, I am proud of the fact that they don't get on this site and find it necessary to defend themselves or retaliate...that says a lot about their character. That says a lot about what they teach students, they set good examples.

All I will say is watch them and see if one of the instructors doesn't pay a lot of attention to one of their younger black belt girls. It is really obvious. I think he was asked to leave for awhile because of this but now is back. More obvious than ever!!
