South east hospital has once again lived up to the hype! I recently had surgery there and it was an awful experience! The nurses were arguing with each other in front of me. They were bad mouthing other doctors in front of me! Procedures to make my experience more pain free were botched and I woke up in extreme pain! It was an absolutely awful experience!! They should really reevaluate some of the staff and their level of professionalism!!

Ok..I'm bored...I'll ask...what kind of surgery? How was it botched? Have you completed your survey? Did you tell a senior member of staff? Did you ask for or report to a quqlity managment dept member? See there are lots of ways to express dissatisfaction in order to get attention and help others avoid having a bad experience. Just throwing out vague bait isnt or shouldnt cut it. We are a savy Topix crowd. Dont insult us.

Take a number in the emergency room. Roll around on the floor in pain and they might move you up a notch.

Ha Ha Good idea regusted! Excellent! Does this work @ SFMC too? Just remember though the original post was a 'surgery' event. Not to be confused with those pesky ER visits. Ha Ha

Shoulder surgery. It was orthoscopic, but severe! My nerve block didn't work! While literally driving it into my neck I was being asked I it was in the right spot! The woman was literally asking me if it was in the right spot! Surprisingly never got the survey call or a check up call! And I don't even remember leaving. I fully understand outpatient surgery, but releasing me when I'm clearly not even coherent....pathetic!!

Still remains to be seen if you will take your complaint to the Quality management dept. That's what they are there for. There is a system in place to manage complaints. If you dont use you cant blame the system. Not saying your perceptions are incorrect, just saying you need to make the complaint to SE not to just us TopixDocs. My Rx is as as stated - take your complaint to those trained to help.

So you weren't coherent? Heaven forbid you experience the sensation of pain after a surgery. Who knew huh? But to admit you weren't coherent.... If you don't remember leaving how do you remember the pain, the arguing nurses, botched procedures?

U guess SE has unprofessional nurses too. At least their nurses don't laugh at work with other nurses, they just argue with each other. Now where do we go for healthcare? Too funny, but I'm not laughing.:)

Amazing how the expectations soar when a person enters the doors of any health care institution. I think we have quickly shut up the original poster. Enough crap on our local hospitals. Be glad we have local choices. If we didnt people would gripe bout that as well. Dont let these jerks bait and strike and walk away while we infight. Shut them down fast. Let them follow a process to complain and whine.

I didn't choose my surgery there, it was switched from SFMC at the last minute. Thanks for the advice from those who actually gave some!

What were the nurses arguing about? What doctors were they bashing? Maybe what you took as arguing was really a professional discussion of so they didnt jab you in wrong spot or give you wrong sx or anything. Nurses do talk, discuss, disagree etc. Patients are like customers...YOU arent always right and you dont always know what is going on based on a limited scope of visibility. Again, I dont think you had an procedure scheduled at either hospital. With all that is going on in our nation and our world, please refrain from trying to stir folks up.

From several past experiences with family members & friends at both hospitals, I can safely say ill never willingly have any major medical procedure done in cape if I have a choice.

See now that's where you're wrong! Customers and especially patients are ALWAYS right! The consumer or the person paying for an item or procedure gets what they want!!

That sucks you had a bad visit there. But truth be it no hospital in the world gives perfect care 100% of the time. They are employed by humans. And we all know what those 'humans' are like. :P

No patients and customers arent always right...not by a long stretch especially in this day and age. Today's customers and patients have an entitlement mentality. I understand the original idea 'the customer is always right'. When that was established it was also expected customers knew how to conduct themselves instead of treating businesses like they are door mats. Most customers have no idea of what it takes to operate a company there fore they come into the patron/proprietor relationship with an extremely heightened sense of elitism and or entitlement.

"Orthoscopic." That's where it all went wrong. They invented a new surgical method on the fly, and the experiement went awry.

I'm sure lessons have been learned, and they will stick with arthroscopic next time.
