We don't get to Cape that often because we live over one hour away. We like to go someplace nicer than usual when we do make the trip...that USED to include Bella Italia.

We went last night, there were a total of 4 couples in the restaurant but the service was still horrible. My salad only had artichoke hearts and cheese on it. The chicken in my husbands dish was very over cooked. I ordered chicken picatta (which I have made at home -- I wanted a professional version). It's main ingredients are chicken broth, butter, lemon juice and capers--It was way over powered by the lemon juice.

At this point we were willing to give it a C- because both my husband and I have worked in the restaurant business so we know you have good & bad days.

To our utter amazement we hear this VERY LOUD noise coming from the kitchen.
When we asked our server she said the owner runs a ice carving business on the side. That totally killed the atmosphere of the rest of our time there.

We have decided not to go back; for $50 we can do better.

I would call and talk to the owner and let them know how you feel. Seems like I remember someone else saying they had problems there. I've never ate there so I wouldn't know.

I can't believe the owner was carving ice during business hours......can't he find a better time to do that. It doesn't surprise me, I've been reading a lot about that place lately and I have heard that they have a major roach problem and way over priced. I've never gone there and won't be starting now....

My husband and I just ate lunch there last week because we had a gift certificate his children had given us for Christmas and the food was horrible. We didn't have any noise issues but the food and service was horrible. My salad had wilted old lettuce and my pasta was not even touchable. That place used to be descent but they have really gone down hill.
AND...when I complained---no comp or even a discount was offered. Thank God we had a gift certificate, I would not have paid a penny for that.
Horrible service and the manager was really rude when we approached him, I didn't get his name but he does not need to be running a restaurant.

I don't know about the son but the manager is a son of a *&*(&(........Last I heard of him he has successfully cheated on every woman he has been with and is now back with his ex------I guess she didn't learn the first time. I know I won't be going to the restaurant after all I've heard lately. I used to eat there all the time with my family....NOT ANYMORE!!!!!!

I am very surprised at these comments. We have eaten there several times in the past year and have thought it was very good food, the service was good and the price was ok for a nice restaurant. I would try again and if not happy speak to owner-not manager.

What the heck? Bella used to be first class. Owners must not be there at night. We were there last weekend at 6:00. Maybe 3 couples in the place. Could not get waited on. Finally got wait person there. didn't check on us for 20 minutes. Had wine, would have had more, no waitress. Salad was warm. Food, not good. Fazolli's is better. If I could go to Fazolli's and get a glass of wine, screw Bella, and the restaaaa them. I'll just fix it at home from now on. Once, twice, three times..... no more.

My family of five enjoyed eating at Bella's for a few years until the last six months or so. We have been patrons since before the remodel. We used to go in on afternoons and be able to eat great food for an okay price, not cheap, but it was worth it.

About six months or maybe more ago, they raised their prices, even at lunch. It was more than a couple of bucks per entree. The last time we went the bread looked and tasted different.
Our favorite waiter was gone and the service is really slow. Our food didn't taste well and the overall experience was a C- at best.

We don't visit there anymore. Sad.

My wife and I were curious about all the comments on what we thought was a good restaurant so we went down there last night to see for ourselves. Well, let's just say that these comments are minor compared to what happened. We had to wait 25 minutes for our salads to arrive at the same time as our meal, we ordered 2 glasses of wine which we never got. The service was terrible and when we ask to speak with a manager, we were told he was on the phone and could not help us. Man, what has happened to that place? Do the Dirnbergers still run that place? If so they need to really work on their management staff--it's a shame to see such a nice restaurant go down hill like that.
