ok, since everyone has something to say, i guess ill chime in...first of all...SEMH is spiraling downhill fast!!..lots of changes have been made over the last 3 years that were supposed to help the hospital come out of this bind. I havent seen a problem solved yet!!...But what i have seen are the letters that were sent out to the employees years ago stating that SEMH no longer would give"cost of living"..or .."across the board" raises, i have seen positions just eliminated, new attendance policies unfairly enacted, insurance hikes, change in retirement companies..i have seen 30+ years veterans of that hospital just shafted out of their jobs!!...of course administration is going to pitch these ideas to make them look as good as they can...but, they only tell their employees what they want them to know!!
There is no reason for a hospital to go from 4 VP's to 8 or 9...thats double, when the facility or customers havent doubled in size...please remember the rumor that debbie linnes caused all of this mess, well guess what folks...debbie linnes also brought her "team" through the door with her..with no questions asked!!..whats the real reason linnes left?...no one knows the real answer to that either, but her "team" is still there and are the ones that are to this day cutting employees and doctors like mad men...SEMH used to be one of the better places to work in this area, now its just a job!!

Administration takes action on what the board approves. Has the board changed? Wouldn't the board be as responsible for all this chaos as the new administration? They are the most consistency in this equation right? Why keep slamming the administration? Why not approach the board? Is there no employee forum for this type of activity? Griping isn't going to bring any real change.

No, he isn't on the Board. It was nice, though, to see him get a standing ovation from employees when he returned recently to attend a recognition event for Roxie Davis.

Wente wasn't the class act an ovation would imply. Whole lot was wrong before he left and he let it go on because he didn't know how to manage a hospital at a corporate level. People may not like how the reversal of the process is being done but for there to be a Southeast Hospital something had to be done. From top to bottom in that place changes had to be made. Decisions were being made based upon cronyism and female intuition of nurse managers and directors...not business sense. There are still some changes that need to happen that haven't and hopefully when all the beans are counted and the cross referencing is done maybe
there will be a few more people given an opportunity to cash out their ETO forever. You want sugar coating go work in a candy factory. If you want to work in today's health care industry you may want to grow a thicker skin.

The Board makes recommendations based upon what Administration suggests. Best way to effect the Board is to join the Association ($15/yr) so you can nominate and vote on Board members.

Any of you people work at the nursing home? How many patients come to your rest home and die withing an house or so or less. Those peole are sent there because the hospitals don't want it on their record as not doing as they advertise. The hospitals no they are going to die and they want to move them as soon as possible. They don't just sent them to one rest home either. They spread them out.Their moto should be,we lie you die.How many people do you know that have died from cancer in the last year? The treatment aren't working. Are you still brainwashed. The oil(grease)that comes from the resin of marijuana cures cancer. This won't be used by some but most will be using it soon. You can smoke pot till the cows come home but it won't cure anything. It will relieve pain, but ingesting cannabis oil will cure cancer. These hospitals are loosing because they are not honest.Pots not going to give you cancer if you smoke and don't believe anybody that says it will, but those hard drugs some of you are doing is going to give you cancer much faster.

Yes it's all about money isn't it.No body at any hospital gives a dam about the health and well being of their patients.Just like when you send a patient to a rest home because you know they are going to die within a houre or two.It would hurt your advertising would it.People would find out how big a liars you are.You people think your smart by using more than one resthome to rid yourself of not good advertising. It would look bad if you hospital killed more than you helped. Some people have forgotten that doctors only treat. There is no money in cures is there. Before it is over your skin will flake off Mr Thick Skin.

SOunds like you have had a bad experience. I can tell you often times it is Medicare or the insurance company that tells a hospital they have to move a patient out or their care will no longer be covered. I can assure you there are many, many, people who are at the patients bedside that do care for the person and do want the best for them.

On the other hand - sounds like you need to lay off the cannabis - oil or otherwise. Just sayin

I have worked at the hospital for ten years and we have never had a patient die (sarcastically speaking). What are you thinking? People die in the hospital just like anywhere else.

Obviously, you are a bitter sr citizen and I doubt anyone will ever be able to reason with you.
However, I'll share some facts with you nevertheless.
The government dictates to hospitals and nursing homes (rest homes) what they can and can't do. In turn, the hospitals and nursing homes require their employees to adhere to the government guidelines. Bottom line, the government is responsible for your level of care.
As caring and compassionate health care professionals we provide the best we can to each patient/resident.
Fortunately, the government has yet to deny us that privilege.
BTW, thank you for your service to this wonderful country.

Any more talk about unions at SE Hospital? Saw a post a while back about it might be organizing on the down low. Was that in nursing, housekeeping or maintenance? Because there are different unions for different types of jobs. It got pretty close at SFMC some years back. I use to work at a hospital out west and they out sourced a lot of the positions in the hospital. It wasn't union though. I know there is a difference just saying. When I left they were outsourcing the computer people and the people who did accounting, billing and coding. Maybe that will be next at SE or at SFMC.
