For those of you who have jobs, take a look at your last check of 2012 and the first check of 2013. Notice any new taxes or rates? You should. Social Security taxes went up. Yep, my SS tax went up $40. I get paid twice a month so that's $80 a month more out of my check.$80 I could have used for my family, spent in our economy or invested. Are you guys sure you voted for the right guy? The one who wasn't going to raise taxes on us middle class people?

And the SS tax increase is just one of the taxes increases or new taxes we are facing.

Yes, this week my check was noticeably less.
For me, the decrease in my check equals a tank of gas. I can't financially survive if these tax hits continue.
Four more years of Obama will bankrupt all of us as well as the nation.

Yes, there is a tax increase.......
The increase is 2% on the Social Security part of your payroll check. The amount of social security and medicare tax that is held out of your checks now is totaled at 6.2%. This was the same percent that was being held out of your checks a couple of years ago. President Obama gave you a 2% tax break that you have enjoyed over the last couple of years. Thanks to the Republicans not getting along with the Presidents plan, that tax break ended at the beginning of this year. If you're gonna stand on your soap box and bitch, get the facts straight.

And if he cared at all about this country, he would've cut spending INSTEAD of raise taxes or end tax breaks. But he can't have his supports have a little less money for alcohol, cigarettes, and tattoos. They need all the food stamps they can get!

If the price of one tank of gas means you can't financially survive then it sounds like you live paycheck to paycheck. You've been living above your means long before the tax breaks Bush implemented were cut. Are you the same Guest that said you deserve to keep what you earn?

Yes, that 2% is the same 2% tax holiday that Obama gave you and your Republican buddies would not support extending. Know why? Because it doesn't effect their money bags contributors, the ones that pay no payroll taxes, only income taxes. But you're wasting your breath trying to explain it to these uninformed morons. They don't have a clue about payroll taxes vs. income taxes. And they're not going to make the effort to learn. They're too busy watching Honey Boo-Boo.
Why no mention on this thread about the income tax cuts that Obama did fight for and got for you?
Illiterate bigots!!

I'm not a republican. Very far from it in fact. You want to keep what you earn because why would you want to help the country? Why can you not sacrifice for the good of others as well? I like keeping what I earn too! But for the good if the country and those less fortunate I'm not going to whine about it. Every year when I pay property tax the majority of it is slotted for the school system. I don't have any children so why should I pay for your child to go to school? Because its in the best interests of the country that we have educated people. And talk about systems that fail! The school system in America is producing idiots. Every year our countries scores go further down the list compared to other countries. It's a system that's failing yet we continue to throw money at it. Everyone has an answer but nobody can get anything done. Start homeschooling your children and pay for a tutor. Taft would solve the problem. But you won't because its cheaper to send your kid to the school and complain they're not learning anything. Take some personal responsibility about your situation! You blaming taxes for the reason you can't afford gas is a cop out. Do you own a flat screen? How many times a week do you eat out? The government can't help you if you don't want to help yourself.

Has Topix assigned you to criticize every post or is that a position you assigned yourself? In any case, STFU!
