Anyone know why Sam's or Walmart in Cape does not have a gas station?

I know one thing, they are missing out! Kroeger has their own stations, Costco has their own stations, what in the world is Sams and Walmart doing missing out and giving the business to others? Dumbasses!

Perhaps it is because they do not want to compete with Rhodes and Kidds.

Perhaps it is because the margins on fuel suck, and Walmart is the largest destination store in existence, they can invest in higher margin inventory to move, without all the headaches that come with fuel sales.

Compete with Rhodes and Kidds? Are you kidding me? Think it slows down Murphy's in Jackson? Get real and wake up and smell the roses. Walmart and Sams know how to make and penny and they all add up! They are not going to worry about small potatoes like those two companies.

No matter what, the margins on fuel are worthwhile. Otherwise, why would Rhodes and Casey's keep expanding, not to mention many others out of the area. I have been to R-P Oil many times when there was not a single pump open. How many Cape or Jackson stations can say that? Certainly not the new "mexican" Rhodes gas stations!

It's congested enough on both parking lots, so where would a gas station be built?

There is room. They can work it out. When did you see the Sams parking lot full out to the street? Or Walmart, either. We need the station because it will help keep Rhodes and BiState from raping the citizens of Cape.

Yes we need more competition in Cape, definitely.

Gas stations make margins on the products they sell inside, if a gas station is fairly busy, fuel may cover the overhead, no more, unless they literally have little or no overhead to begin with.

Do you think Walmart doesn't research these things at all, that they don't have companies they employ for no other reason than to determine ROI?

If Walmart thought owning their own stations was worth while, they would do so.

I don't know how about going to a gas station that fits your budget BEFORE you go to Walmart. My God you earthlings are lazy. Just wait until I turn earth into krypton.

We need someone to help shut down Rhodes. They have been bullying local gas prices since the 1980's. This crime wave has got to stop.
Sams club would be great for lower prices and slow down the Rhodes wars.

So let me see if I have this straight. You want Walmart Corporation to help solve a problem of business bullying?

Do you have any inkling at all of all the things wrong with that thought process?

My thoughts as well. Walmart is like a bunch of blood sucking leaches that sucked the blood out of small business.

You all do realize that Walmart started off as a small business right? Maybe your local business owners should step up their game. Walmart didn't reach 400 billion dollars in annual sales overnight. Hard work and smart businessmen created the empire it is today. Good luck overturning that.

It started as a small business with an ethical and caring founder, it has grown into a corporation that he would no longer recognize.

They will be impossible to topple, and they will continue to drive people onto government assistance programs and create jobs overseas at a rate of 3 jobs for every 1 created in this country.

They don't give a shit about this nation or its people, they are slaves to the profit, and it will never be enough to satiate their hunger for more.

Being an employee for Walmart, I'm nowhere in need of government assistance. In fact, I'm compensated fairly well for someone who has never stepped foot I'm a college classroom. There is a fellow manager that works at your cape store who is making approx.$40,000 at the age of 22, who also has never stepped foot inside a college classroom. Walmart is the largest private employer in the united states, offering jobs to millions if people across the country. Based on the associate job functions, they are compensated fairly well for what is asked of them. And the opportunity for advancement is there to take your career to the next level. At my current rate of 401K and stock investments with this company, will retire with close to a million dollars if not more. I started as an overnight grocery stocker 7 years ago. Walmart offers jobs that cater to everyone, whether it be college kids looking for beer money, elderly people looking for retirement income, or someone seeking a promising career in business management.

It's real easy to watch a couple documentaries and throw out your opinions based on those, however at the end of the day, if you were in their shoes, I highly doubt you would be any different.

I personally do not care about the other people in this nation and their well being. I'm worried about myself, my wife and my kids. Walmart allows me to do that. Cuz even at 26, I'm smart enough to know that the only person who has your back, is yourself.
