A friend of mine was there last weekend and said that the food was AMAZING! I heard they were doing something on New Years Eve, I think I want to go so I can check it out and hopefully try some of the food.

Are they preparing their own food or are caterer's bringing it in?
Cook's Catering in Jackson did our wedding reception for over 400 people.
Pork Tenderloin, Rotisserie Grilled Chicken, Au Gratin Potatoes, Green Beans, Pasta salad, both sweet and unsweetened tea for $7.25 per person.
The food was great, we had so many compliments about the food.
They set everything up buffet style and left the extra food for us at the end of the evening.
Their price was over $2.00 per person cheaper than the other 3 bids we had.
The savings nearly paid for the rental on the Bavarian Hall in Fruitland.

Just don't go to Gordonville Grill. You'll have memories, but not good ones!

Try Dockside. It's downtown on Spanish street.(Close to Bella Italia.) A friend of mine had her wedding reception there, and she said is was extremely cheap compared to the other venue's in the area. I've been in there, and it's pretty nice. I've never been inside The Venue, so I can't compare it to that. Good luck, and congratulations on the wedding!

Thanks for the help, I will check into all locations, yes, The Venue does do food there so that would be easy, I'm going to see if they have a website or FB page. I would like something a little nicer than Burger King, Ponderosa, Ryan's or Pizza Hut but thanks for throwing that out there...

The Venue has a site at http://www.capegirardeauvenue.com/
People have been raving about it. I guess it's nice compared to other options, but all the chandeliers in the world can't make up for a drop tile ceiling.

You might also check with Ray's in Kelso. I think they still cater for the convention center in Cape or whatever it's called now.

Celebrations used to rent out space and cater upstairs in the Marquette Hotel. I don't know if they have an agreement with the owners there anymore though.

I had Ray's a couple weeks ago at a catering event, it was horrible, it tasted like microwaved food, we won't be using them. I know this is just my opinion so I hope no one attacks me for it :)

I had the same experience. My fiancÚ and I went in there a while back, and were not impressed. The food was ridiculously expensive, horrible service, and the food was cheap tasting. It literally did taste like TV dinner food. I've has Cook's BBQ catering, and it was absolutely delicious.

I have an appointment at The Venue next month, I'm excited to see it! It looks beautiful (from the parking lot) agreed, not the best location but I have heard good things. Thanks again everyone!

You're very welcome! Also, if you don't mind, will you update what the price is and what you think of The Venue?? I'm engaged, and have wondered the same things about it.

We had catering by Ray's at the Plaza Conference Center recently...and it was wonderful! Far above and beyond what we paid for. Haven't been to the venue, so I can't compare the two.
