My husband and I live in WV. We have two children (11& 8). I was wondering if some locals could maybe tell me some pros/cons for the area. What is the cost of living like? Is it easy to find a job? Do you recommend moving to Portland? Thanks for any input in advance!

well that is real funny, Me to want to move to maine, Drugs here and no work in the coal area's are killing the people in the heart land of the hill's of Kentucky. Yes we do talk funny and drink alot but are hard workers when we find work. Help us out and tell us people form KY, WV, if we will be welcome with open arms.

I love Portland. We've been here 7 years and live right in town. Very friendly and there's a lot going on. Cost of living is not as high as larger cities, but not super cheap, either, if you want to live in or near town. I recommend you check out what some people have said on the website SecondLifeMaine.com
That site has a number of interviews with people who have moved to Portland.
