I was researching the cost of building a home in Cape Coral and I found a few developers. For a 1,800 sq foot home with 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths and a two-car garage, it was starting at about $120k-$130k (without land).
When I check on craigslist for homes for sale, I found plenty of relatively new homes (built around 2006) for $90k WITH LAND!!! It seems that most builders have not adjusted their prices to the current market. Any thoughts? |

I would definately recommend purchasing an already built home vice a new one. You can purchase a nice foreclosed home in the Cape in the high 70's. I purchased a a 3bdrm, 2bth 2 car garage 1600sq ft home in July and only had to put an extra 4K (painting/repair)to get the home looking brand new. You will need a good Real Estate agent that will look out for your best interest e.g no Chinese dry wall. I can give you a name if your interested.
