They made many mistakes and will be caught in time. Thieves even the ones that think they are smart mess up. There are 100 things people have to do to get away with a crime. Most people only know 5-10.

Well solving a crime would require the police force to remove their focus from setting speed traps and telling people to leash their dogs on the beach. Things are certainly different around here now.
