bull ! I think I smell a corrupt sheriffs dept. and the cover up of a murder by a police officer. the number off shots fired by the deputy raises a red flag, 13 fatal shots ? that shows loss of control/anger- was it personal ? I don't believe Tommy had the stuff in the jeep the sheriff said, planted by cops ? this sheriffs department sure does shoot alot of suspects ?

The only coverup that Tommy is smelling is the dry dirt on his face!

You are awful certain that I did not know Tom but I'm afraid I did know him maybe not in the sense that many of you his supporters knew him! But I knew him just the same although it was from the underworld of the local music scenes that I knew him!

I want to say that we all make mistakes , I'm not perfect by any means ! some things don't add up and I have been standing up for an old friend ! I do not mean to come across as threatening in any way, some of the comments made by some people against tom have been cruel and un called for, did he do something to you to cause such hate ? I can't understand what people hope to achieve by such cruel comments, by karma I mean that I believe that you get treated by people the way you treat others, when you speak ill of others live or dead you will receive the same poor treatment in return.do not judge others that you know little of, that right belongs to a higher power than any of us here!
john davis I apologize for the die slowly in a ditch comment, that was over the top.

Cops are trained to shoot to kill when an AK47 is shown its time to neutralize the threat which means kill

Yea sorry, its kind of hard to plant an ak47 along with 500+ rounds of ammo and ski mask zip ties etc...just doesnt seem likely that would have taken place...maybe a handgun...
This guy was obviously up to no good, whom knows what would have happend if they didnt stop him. I'd assume a robbery of some sort...to whom? probably a drug dealer, i guess i shouldnt speculate.
Its a sad tragedy that shouldnt have taken place yet did. The cop in question did his job keeping the streets safe. In my opinion alot of things dont add up...Why would someone point a ak47 at a cop to begin with or pull behind an icecream shop into a dark alley.
13 shots does seem a bit much as far as them being fatal shots, but honestly 13 shots in any semi automatic weapon is a only a matter of a few seconds. He did what he was trained to do.
I'd have to believe that the evidence found is just that...That it wasnt planted nor made up.

I have certainly heard enough to know that there was a lot more going on than a routine traffic stop: obviously. I still encourage authorities to have it reviewed by an outside agency. One rumor that has persisted is that the deputy who was involved int he shooting, was the deputy who had arrested him a few weeks prior. Those charges were dropped a few days before the shooting.
for those that have passed judgement based on the mis-information released by the sheriff , they forgot to release the dropped charges part, huh ?

Oh My GOD!!!

----------

FORT MYERS, FL -
A man shot to death by a deputy in south Fort Myers last month had a loaded AK-47, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and other unusual items in his vehicle, according to Sheriff Mike Scott.
Tommy Kollman, 48, of Fort Myers, was killed off San Carlos Boulevard, just south of Kelly Road, early the morning of December 15th.
Kollman was pulled over by a deputy around 3:30 a.m. and pulled his vehicle into a parking lot behind an ice cream shop.
The sheriff's office said Kollman was armed with the AK-47 and pointed it at the deputy. Shots were fired and Kollman was killed.
The 9-1-1 call about the incident was released on January 3rd, where a scared resident described bullets hitting and going into his home.
The deputy was not injured in the incident and is on paid administrative leave.
In addition to the 560 rounds of ammunition, the sheriff says Kollman had a ski mask, gloves, handcuffs and zip ties in his vehicle.
Friends say Kollman was well known on Fort Myers Beach, where he played in bands and bartended in various restaurants.
The sheriff's office said once their investigation is complete they'll turn it over to the state attorney's office for further investigation.
