Do not fall for what Jackson Hewitt is trying this year.
There is no rapid refund, but if you can walk in to a bank and get a signiture loan you can "borrow" money against your tax refund at a high interest rate.
If your credit score is not over 700 you will get your refund one day later than if you used turbo tax to E-file.
Jackson Hewitt is saying you can get a check in one day IF YOU QUILIFY but it is a high interest LOAN.
Spend $60.00 on turbo tax instead of paying Jackson Hewitt over $200.00 and get your refund one day sooner!

Hello: The Refund Anticipation Loan (RAL) is a is a loan made by a third party financial institution to a customer and secured by a customer's anticipated federal tax refund. It is important to keep in mind that a Refund Anticipation Loan is a loan and is clearly disclosed as such. However, it is one of several financial product choices that Jackson Hewitt makes available to consumers who request them.

Then the tax preparer should not have lied to me when I asked if I would get any benifit over buying turbo tax. What Jackson Hewitt is doing is called "bait and switch" and is a crime.
I have filed a complaint and understand that there are a lot of other complaints about this.
Jackson Hewitt should not "trick" people in to paying hundreds of dollars when I could have gotten my refund back a day sooner and saved $150.00!

I fell for their File here for $38.40 if you qualify for 1040EZ. Went through the entire prep & then the lady, whom by the way was a sweetheart, told me it would cost me OVER $250.00!!!!!!! Talk about a BAIT and SWITCH!!!! Had the lady that prepared them not been so nice & I myself not a nice person I would have simply gotten up and LEFT but I felt so bad that she already did all the work! I spoke with a manager that did not respond to my inquiry for almost a week and a half, I left voice mails for her twice daily & then finally when she DID call back she said that even though I am eligible for the 1040EZ form THEY don't consider me qualified for it since I have more than myself as dependents and that it's a FAIR price to be billed!!! What a crock of S*** I am contacting my local BBB branch in the A.M. to file a formal complaint!!!!!

I fell for this one. I bought that card and let me tell you be glad you didn't qualify the fees are outrageous after may 1st!! i actually found this thread trying to find a way to cancel the damn thing! Oh! and they say that you get cash back when you shop online at certain stores well i have spent over $500 and tried to check my rewards and it say i need to log back in over and over again. I feel like a moron for buying it. Usually i am a loyal Jackson Hewitt customer, but next year I'm going with Turbotax $60 is a lot cheaper than the $300 i dished out for basically nothing!!

I think that Jackson Hewitt is a qualified tax organization. And just like other companies everyone is not going to have a good experience. Hell, ppl have problems with Disney World. When you get your taxes done ask the appropriate questions before signing the dotted line. I dont understand why ppl need the money the next day anyway. You waited all year long! Then you want to get made at Jackson Hewitt for charging you. Save your money during the year and stop asking these tax services to work miracles at the end of the year.

Spell Check would not catch those "misspellings" because there weren't any words misspelled. Just complete wrong words. Spell Check doesn't correct grammar mistakes.

Since the RAL is illegal now and you can not offer it there is no reason to pay you when Turbotax is just $29.00.

They are a qualified tax service, but they are out right lying to people to get them to pay hundreds of dollars when they get nothing more than if they did the tax themselves, in fact the employee at Jackson Hewitt is using a tax software much like Turbotax so why pay hundreds of dollars when you can pay $29.00?
Besides, Jackson Hewitt than has your personal tax information in their files. A business that deceives people to get business can not be trusted with personal information

My boyfriend and I went to a local Jackson and Hewitt in the mall where he works in Hawaii, because he we were told he would get a 10% mall discount on filing. We told them we were full time students working full time and part time, and they quoted us between $40-60, and possibly an additional $20 because we were filing W-2s from two states.

We dropped our taxes off, and made an appointment to come back two days later to sign and pay. When we walked in, there was one woman working with a customer and she didn't even look up to acknowledge us. When we made the appointment, we let them know we would be in a hurry, and they promised it would be quick. After 15 minutes of waiting and being ignored, I spoke up and asked how long she would be, because we had an appointment time for 15 minutes ago. She looked up and quite rudely told me she would be done in a bit. I got up and walked out.

My boyfriend stopped by later to get his paperwork signed, and inquired what our bill would be.... the total for both of us was $350.00- I am walking in tomorrow, grabbing my W-2's and telling them to fuck themselves. This has been the worst customer service I've ever had as well as a bait-and-switch crime.

Gave us false information about our tax return took our money and now we owe more to the IRS than we should. They refute to refund our preparation fees even though it was their fault and misinformation.
