Consumers and businesses in Imlay City now have access to Frontier Communications' high-speed Internet, allowing them to email, quickly download movies, share photos or video with friends and family, and create their own Internet content.

Approximately five months after acquiring the operations, Frontier technicians installed High-Speed Internet equipment, based on digital subscriber line (DSL) technology, at the company's telephone switching facilities in the area, enabling the company to offer broadband service to eligible consumers in this Lapeer County community.

Frontier High-Speed Internet subscribers have access to an extensive array of features and services, including online backup, virus and spyware protection with Frontier Peace of Mind; Frontier email; U.S-based technical support; online gaming; Internet television via my fitv; and more. All in-home installations are completed on-site by highly trained technicians who take the time to educate customers unfamiliar with PCs about computer basics.

Frontier High-Speed Internet service is delivered on a dedicated line from Frontier's central switching office to the customer's home or business and is backed by live, 24/7 100 percent U.S.-based customer service and technical support. The service typically is available to residents and businesses located within approximately three miles of the company's central switching offices.

Eligible residential customers may sign up online for a Frontier High-Speed Internet one-year service plan—with connection speeds up to 1 Mbps (megabits per second), or customers may choose an annual plan with speeds of up to 3 Mbps (megabits per second) or an annual plan with speeds of up to 7.1 Mbps (megabits per second). Residential consumers may call 866-353-9188 or visit http://www.frontier.com to check their eligibility or to place orders.

Frontier High-Speed Internet for Business packages offer a choice of speeds, static IP addresses, remote dial-up access, networking and domain name emails. More information about service availability and pricing is available to business owners by calling 866-353-9188 or by visiting

http://www.frontier.com .

Frontier customers also can bundle Frontier High-Speed Internet service with a Frontier Freedom calling plan and all-digital DirectTV® service, giving them unlimited calling, high-speed Internet access and in-home video service for additional savings – all on one bill from a name they trust.

For more information on affordable plans and rates call 866-353-9188 or visit http://www.frontier.com .

We changed over to frontier a month ago. So far so good. We live right in town. I don't know how much Hughes net costs, but frontier was cheaper than Air Advantage.

HughesNet is $59.99, for the basic bottom of the line package, 200MB per day. You can get more expensive packages with increased daily MB. I just can't afford anymore than this..

I do any heavy downloading between the hours of 2am and 7 am, like automatic updates for Windows etc, so it does not take from my daily package of 200MB.

i have frontier and have priced out air advantage, banion, and hughes net. they all have their pros and cons however frontier is the cheapest and i have ha no problems with it. it is fast enough to play xbox live, and watch netflix, and quickly downloads music and youtube videos. i was quoted with hughes net being the mot expensive so you may be able to save some money. they currently have a package deal with DSL highspeed internet, a unlimited local and long distance home phone line with call waiting, call forwarding, and caller ID, and a directv television package for approx.$130 per month

It is a bundle and there is a charge to install because of the modem..I think $50.00..a one time plus it frees your phone and you have no time limit and it is really fast. Best if you call Frontier, and also if you have Direct TV..it is a better deal.

Frontier is probably the cheapest around because they are running on a federal broadband grant. In the meantime the are suffocating any other "local" broadband services from expansion.

What grant?Which "local" broadband services? Do you represent a "local" service?

Frontier is the one of the best for xbox live or ps3 i play CoD and i have like 4 bars to 3 bars but if someone is on youtube or some shit than you might lag a little but the good thing is there is no LImit for downloads you can download from 1am to midnight without a problem.
Installion is not expensive about $200 and $50 to 35$
I had the second best package they had and it was wonderful for gaming, youtube, downloads, and for streaming Movies.
The downside is that the modem will over heat so just turn it off when your not using it for like a minute and will run fine,
The internet is down sometimes but i mean like a day every month.
I had a Verizon Mifi and i would lag all the time i dont regreat switching to frontier.
Right now i moved into the country i used to live in the city so now im stuck with Wildblue and it is slow as hell never get WIldblue well Frontier is now putting Zero Optic Wires around my area and that means there adding landlines where i can get Fronteir DSL and its fast.
Sorry for Boradband users but DSL is alot faster.
I hope this answers any questions about frontier.

There are several plans available. None of them have a download limit like Hughes does, but the download speeds vary with your plan. I reduced my plan to the 6 mps plan with unlimited use for 39.99 a month. The DSL speeds were around 80.00 per month with unlimited use, but I am sure they run specials and such. With our installation we did get a wireless modem so wehave wireless throughout the house which is nice. The service was great no complaints.
