According to the Times Herald Online in St. Clair County Mitt Romney had more votes than Obama.

Clearly the people of St. Clair County have spoken.

I think the electoral college thing should be just thrown out.

Why is that fair? Person by person, vote for vote that is what should matter..

Yup. I loved the first ladies speech. 4 more years, because he deserves it!!!!!!! Yeah, that's a humble commander in chief. Not that he's thankful to serve another 4 years-he deserved it.

I thought the speech was horrible. 4 more years of debt, United States citizens and their children living in the street and hungry..

What kind of person says...Yes I deserve this..

Hungry children in America, you really have something to be proud of Mr. Obama.

Obama swept the electoral college and won the popular vote. It is clear the time of the extremists is over.

I love how people think that the Obama re-election is practically a sentence of 4 more years or poverty, families living in the streets, high gas prices, and a bad economy. Let's take a look at what Obama came into, the worst economy since the depression, I believe the economy is showing signs of improvement and don't understand people that believe Obama was going to make everything all better in four years, as for the poverty level people need to learn to live within their means, my wife and I make less than $60,000 a year, we own our own house, have dependable vehicles, and are able to pay our bills. People constantly blame the economy for their tough times but yet we all have smartphones, iPads, laptops, sporting events and concerts always sell out. Live within your means people. And gas prices is such a disaster but yet day after day I have full size pickups and suv's blow by me at 80mph on I-69. Quit making excuses and blaming the economy and president for your bad choices

You know what, you are more than welcome to your opinion, as everybody else is welcome to theirs.

I do not think that anyone with a brain expected Obama to fix everything in 4 years. Let's be totally honest, when is the last time any president really fixed anything. They are all puppets, someone washes their clothes, cooks their food, drives them around, writes their memo's, their speeches, their addresses, and so on and so forth.

In the end it really does not matter who won or who lost, America is doomed, the economy is not getting better, we are headed for really tough times ahead.

Yes, there are many with all the fancies, the ipads, ipods, smartphones, SUV's etc etc,and that is their business, but there are also many who do not have any of those things, who work hard at a job, and have to choose between food and paying their heating bill. Not everything or everyone is as you describe.

There are still hard working, penny pinching, coupon clipping people that have learned to live within their means and they are still having a tough time. No cable, no dish network, no internet, they cannot keep up with the rising costs of food, heat, electricity,,gas, it just goes on and on.

When does anyone win at this game?? Perhaps never. Life in America has become a vicious circle of survival, where there is no rest for the weary, and no peace for men's minds.

Perhaps there are some that are on this topix forum making excuses, but in the real world there are many, many hurting people out there in these United States, that in your opinion are not as perfect as you.

Until you walk in their shoes, don't be so quick to judge everyone by your own code of ethics. We are all individuals with individual situations. You do not know my pain or the pain of many others.

I couldn't agree with you more Holly!! I'll go so far as to make my own generalization, because I know too many that are on welfare who still have cable, dish, fancy cars, ect. ect. The reason they can afford those things are because they don't have to worry so much about food prices. But many of us have none of those things because we are taking care of ourselves and not asking others to do tackle our necessities so we can afford the luxuries.
Many of us coupon clip, use cloth diapers for our babies, reduce water and gas usage, grow our own food and have "tried" to provide our families with fresh eggs <-----lol on that one! Had to throw that in, you get the picture.

Thank you Cozy! I am in agreement with you and I totally understand your fresh egg plight! I have been following your story in the Tri-City Times.

Yes, we are taking care of ourselves, doing all we can do to keep it all together, and now I will have to worry about being compliant to Obamacare, because I cannot afford health insurance, because I have to provide warmth, clothing, running water, food, electricity, and other necessities for my family, I will be taxed.

Am I complaining, no just stating a true fact of my life. Who really knows what looms in the future for all of us with another 4 years of Obama?? There are no guarantees. I guess we never really promised anything in the first place, so all we can do is go day by day and hope for the best!

Wishing you well, and I hope you will figure out a way for Capac to have chickens.

i agree with what you are saying that there are many that do live within their means and still struggle. however they are forced to suffer because others abuse the system... i witness too often people in line at grocery stores that are messing with their i phone in line and then pay their bill with a bridge card... it does not make sense and is first hand evidence of people abusing the system and unfortunately many good honest hard working people suffer because of it. and if you want chickens move to the country... once again just my opinion

I agree with your comments about the abuse of the system. It does not make sense at all.

I myself do not have an interest in having chickens in town, I was simply trying to offer my support to Cozy, she seems passionate in her endeavors, and I think that she knows what it is gonna take to get things changed around these parts, and just what she is up against.

If everyone just laid down and let everyone walk all over them, there would never be any change. If she feels it is worth the fight that I say go for it!

Yes, that was awesome!!!!! Seeing many articles out today about how the conservatives have been lied to by their entertainment news media machine. Wonder if any of them will heed the message and try to find out what is really going on out there in the world. Fox is like it's own little out of touch universe.

You claim Clinton fixed it in 4 years when it was the dot coms that drove the economy. Then when it burst, you blamed Bush and said he should have fixed it in 4 or 8 years when he was dealing with terrorism on our soil. Now YO-BAMA is your disciple.

Typical, haven't you guys figured out that crazy name calling and playing games void of facts will not win you an election? Here is a clue, the ten worst educated states went almost exclusively for Romney, the people of these red states coincidentally receive the most financial support in terms of government handouts.

The top ten most educated states went for Obama. You might be able to fool your base with hate filled rhetoric, distortions and outright lies but then you are just left with your base. Believe it or not the far right is a minority in this country and pandering to the people who actually swallow all the bullsh*t is what lost you this election.

Fox news encourages this as does Rush because they make millions off stoking your hate. They are no doubt secretly ecstatic that Obama won because they are going to make a fortune over the next four years feeding the flames of the uneducated, over the top fringe group. Make no mistake, by forcing Romney to go extreme during the primaries, it was the far right, tea bagging, no compromise group that lost this election for him. In short, the far right did this to themselves. Time for some of that soul searching.

Thank God I don't have cable.
What I do see is that Obamacare is unconstitutional. When I think tea party, I think Ron Paul. I am disgusted to see what has happened. I believe in smaller government and that is not what the GOP offered us. Romney was full of old ideas, and his stance on immigration was terrible. I would like to see some kind of amnesty go into effect while we streamline our process on getting people here legally. If you've ever been to Mexico, you'd see why people are fighting tooth and nail to get here.
I know I am probably going to open a can of worms here, so I'll leave it at that. I don't think any one person has the answer, but I am sort of worried about whats ahead now (especially having a close family member in afganistan).

We have the most expensive healthcare in the world, we have 50 million uninsured and our health outcomes suck. The constitution was never meant to be static, that's why our forefather's gave us amendments. Change is hard, but our healthcare is a catastrophe. Sure, if your over 55 they are not going to touch your benefits but it is really selfish if the seniors do not realize what young people are facing.

You are a fool Ron!!!! We have had the best healthcare the world could offer!!!! Everyone around the world comes to America because we have had the best!!!

We did not need to hand the whole darn thing over to the government!!!Changes could have been made that would have protected our privacy as well as making it cheaper... Have you ever thought about the fact that the powers that be have made it more expensive so idiots such as yourself would fall for the "It's the only way."

You are a useful idiot that has taken the bait...

You need to check your facts, the government has not taken over healthcare, they just put in regulations and said that people who can afford insurance have to buy it so that we don't end up paying for them when they get sick. We do have state of the art hospitals here, but the majority of Americans do not have access to the best and our outcomes are worse than most other industrialized nations and costs more than any other nation. If you don't know this, then you need to do some homework. The world is not flat.

The Huffington post...LOL LOL LOL LOL!!!Now I know why you are so well informed!!!

Ron, Obama IS going to control our health care system..He has set up a panel that will make decisions on who can get what...It's very Orwellian and it will be survival of the fittest...

You voted for someone who is going to look into every crevise of your life and health and will decide if you are worth saving!!! You have given over control of your choices to big government and you think you will be better off..

It's not going to be cheaper!!! A whole new bureacracy has to be set up and 12,000 IRS agents will have to be paid... That probubly sounds comforting to someone like you but if you would have researched a little more you would have found that the estimates already have the cost 3X as much as we were told!!!

Must be nice living in a dream world where politicians actually care about the individual...In my world it's just the opposite!!!!
