To the Hawk's Family,
I had gone through somewhat a similar traumatic life changing experience with someone I love very dearly. They were in a coma then a drug induced coma after an accident, had a trach, collapse lungs, blood loss, etc. The key word to that was accident and they too were just doing their job one day, and although they had survived suffer from nightmares and post traumatic disorder. I also had people analyze and make ASSUMPTIONS of things they knew nothing about, but the majority were prayers and hope.
Although I only knew your father from a few quick waves and a handshake given to my young son while we were in town, I am puzzled why people are pulling this apart, bending, and shaping it to be their own forum. I would like to tell you to focus on the positive but when you are having to defend someone who at this time cannot defend themselves please do not convince yourself to think that it is the majority. Like many people I know in this town I have heard nothing but a prayer to a positive thought about your dad.
I am only thankful that when I went through what your family is going through and will still have ahead that there wasn't a website where people could hide behind a false identity and you have to defend your father to a "ghost".
I know about free speech and understand the right to everyone's own opinion, but some compassion maybe too far to reach for some people. I wish I did have a story to post, and even if I did have a negative thing to say I certainly would not do it during a time when everyday I am sure you are just happy he is alive.
I do live in Capac and my children do attend each of the schools, I hope you still believe that there are people who still care and pray for your dad IN CAPAC!!!!!!!
