Good for you Bob Kellar. ILLEGAL immigrants are a major drain on our economy. Send them home and let them enter the US the way they are suppose to, legally. I like the Governators idea of sending the illegal prisoners to Mexico. It would save a ton of money.

Racisim in any form, cannot be tolerated by people who truly beleive in the ideals of patriotism. And in a country where all are created equal the racist minority should never be allowed to come into power. Their lack of tolerance will only oppress the inherent rights of all of God's people to care for one another. No matter the color of your skin, it's time to stop blaming others for your own short comings.

What an ignorant statement.

Don't listen to what I say, only what I tell you I meant.

I think it is about time we expect our politicians to say what needs to be said in a way that doesn't generate another angry demonstration.

I have a problem with illegal immigration too, but his statement should be condemned, and he should leave politics and make room for those who can bring up issues without creating a mob scene that ultimately will bear no other fruit but anger disguised as patriotism.

I didn't know we had more then one flag! and as far as our language ,yes people speak many different languages but this country was founded on the english language and it should be made the official labguage an end this bs.i came to this country in 1953 legally and learned english and saluted the american flag( not the italian, mexican, french, russian or any other countries flags) for I am an American.--------AN IF BY BELEIVEING IN ONE FLAG AND ONE LANGUAGE THOSE MORONS THINK THAT MAKES ME A RACIST THEN I'M PROUD TO BE CALLED ONE. thats one of the biggest problems we have in this country the minute someone stands up for this country and his beliefs he's called a white racist and the media picks right up on it and puts it on the front page to make money.---so in closing in closing kellars statement was not about race but love of country ( you have nothing to apolligize for

As one of the many Bob Kellar supporters Illegal Immigration remain injustice to all American citizens and Permanate residents. Are Immigration laws need to be enforced by all law enforcement. We all know that by only enforcing are immigration @ the federal level is not the answer. All law enforcement need to be trained by Immigration to arrest Illegal Aliens. E-verify also needs to be mandate here in California. This program is Federally mandated and remains in effect for another 3 years. Since alot of the American workers jobs are taken by fraudulent social security numbers why not mandate e-verify here in California along with the states of Arizona,Mississippi and Oklahoma?

City Council Candidate TimBen Boydston Addresses Santa Clarita City Council Meeting Regarding Controversy Surrounding City Councilmember’s Remarks
Candidate Boydston Outlines Position and Makes Proposals

I am Former Councilman TimBen Boydston and in the interest of full disclosure I am a candidate for City Council in our April election.

When I was on the City Council in 2007, I worked very hard to establish a Code of Ethics for our City. This very Council with the exception of Council Member Ender who was not yet elected, passed our Ethics Code. A violation of our City’s ethics code is a serious matter. This code dictates the way that you, as representatives of the people, are to conduct yourselves while serving the citizens of our great City.

On January 16th Council member Kellar exercised one of the great freedoms that we have in America, The Freedom of Free Speech. While I disagree with some of the things that Mr. Kellar said, I stand in his defense for his right to say them. In fact while serving my country in the military, I pledged my very life to preserve this freedom, as did Mr. Kellar when he served.

However, during our term as City Council Members, we are not allowed to advocate, without declaring, that we are not speaking for the City Council. The Law is very clear on this and there is no ambiguity. I quote “[members] shall explicitly state that they do not represent their body or the City of Santa Clarita.” In watching the video of the January 16th event, this statement is never made. Council member Kellar was introduced as a public official from our City. It was his responsibility to state that He was not representing the City.

As to the contents of Mr. Kellar’s speech, I believe that Mr. Kellar did not intend for his remarks to come out the way they did. The assertion that Mr. Kellar made using the term racist is not appropriate in any context. It is inflammatory. The persuasive device used “if this then that” failed miserably. I appreciate that Mr. Kellar said in an interview with KHTS that he wished he had not used that word.
A simple apology for the use of that phrase, and for an unintended breach in our ethics code would be all that would be needed to put this turmoil to rest. I call upon our honorable City Council to ask for that simple apology.

As to the illegal immigration issue, that discussion does not belong in a forum of shouters in an outdoor park, but rather here in our representatives’ chambers.

Illegal immigration is a Federal issue but our Federal Government has failed to address this issue, and it impacts all of us.

So I recommend that the City Council form a citizen’s task force made up of all of the diverse elements of our great City to study this issue, and bring forward recommendations to the City Council of ways in which we the people of Santa Clarita can encourage and help our State and Federal Government to solve this problem.

May God Bless the City of Santa Clarita, and May God Bless America.

Have you noticed @ alot of protest marches and meetings that the pro-illegal immigration signs are pre-made. The supporters appear to be hired by groups such as La Raza,S.E.I.U., Mencha, and the Democratic party. The other group appears like real American people that are angry with their government over the lack of enforcing Immigration laws.

Alot people are misinformed how rampant the use of fraudulent Social security numbers are used by illegal aliens. I know of illegals workers in that are employed in hotels, banks and hospitals. Are these the jobs American worker dont want? Of course we all know of the jobs that are taken @ the Car wash and our favorite fast food places. While I was growing up these entry level jobs for our teenagers. But, now these local managers have hired them with their fraudulent social security numbers.Knowing that if they are caught they will only be fined 10,000 dollars per employee. The Obama adminstration has halted Immigration raids of employees. But, at least they are going after the employer of illegal immigrates.

Perhaps Santa Clarita Councilman Kellar should rethink using the word "proud racist" in referencing himself in a strange rhetorical exercise.
Merriam Webster lists racism as: " a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race". If this is what he wants to be so "proudly" then so be it. Hopefully his further quote in attemping an explaination of, "It doesn't mean I'm going to saddle up the horses at midnight" (oh good) isn't of an average sampling of his thought process. Wow. What is he so threatened by? RememberThinkSCV.com
Maybe he should study a second language and expand his cultural awareness in the process. You were soundbited but should still comprehend your choice of words. Who does your gardening?

Im sick and tired of people using MECCHA to prove their point. MECCHA is a small insignificant group whose views are not representative of Latinos in general. But anti-immigration and extreme right wing groups associated with the Republican Party keep bringing up MECCHA in order to discredit ALL Latinos. I do believe our immigration system is broken and in need of repairs. The current atmosphere of hatred and hostilities towards LEGAL and ILLIGAL Latinos will prevent any meaningful reform to the immigration system. Like other ethics groups in the past (Irish & Italians), it will take a generation or two for Latinos to fully assimilate into mainstream America.
It IS patriotic

Legalization of illegal immigrants is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. It's breaking the law, does no one care about the law? Oh that's right no one does cause they're not from here.
English only is fine too. I dont care if your from Mexico or Mars it cost too much money to keep printing everything in 50 languages and its wrong, the key to success in the U.S. is assimilation. Illegals cost the United States 50 billion a year and counting. P.S. I rounded down to get that number.

Keller is a closet racist ...he was widely known as a racist and drunk while on the LAPD ..just ask a few veteran officers.

His bloated face and greasy hair looks so scary on my plasma tv, he is a egomaniac who's supporters are old white Santa Clarita fools.

His ethics are very questionable and he can be seen at local taverns plowing them down..his nickname around town is " Bourbon Bob!!!!! He earned the title. Loser ,,he needs to go home and iron his KKK robe.

Actually, ILLEGAL are the ones that keep our economy going. Plus all the taxes they pay every year (Sales Tax, Personal Property tax, all the state fees)- It's a windfall for the states coffer.

Those "mob scenes" are activists looking for any issue to promote their anarchy and Leftist street power. All those here justifying the distortion of what this man said are trying to cover the violent street politic (associated with terrorizing whites) think people don't know this has been going on already for generations, certainly since the 1960s... That's forty some years. Crap... This guy mentions race and those identifying themselves particularly as The Race object.

Tell these people to stop throwing their disposable diapers in the streets.

I hate that he was taken out of context, simply for inflammatory ratings. None of the news organizations will carry the entire soundbite. I've posted this before, but logic of the point he was trying to make is along the lines of Woody Allen in Broadway Danny Rose:

"Well you know they call me old fashioned, but if it's old fashioned to like Mr. Danny Kaye, Mr. Bob Hope, Mr. Milton Berle, you know what I mean, then alright, then I'm old fashioned."

He was basically saying that if someone calls me racist for being American and wanting to protect our borders and our great way of life, then I'm a racist...

Stop with the political correctness. And I'm sorry, but the word "Racist" is thrown around much too much nowadays.
