That's great! Canutillo elected a former secretary with no real management or financial experience, nor education, to run a multi-million dollar budget and make decisions on policy and curriculum?

Mendoza ran the schoolboard meetings all these years. If there's someone who knows the district and can fix it... it's her. BTW I have a Masters Degree, not sure what she has? But she is well versed and very intelligent. Searls 73? wow, she looks good for 73? lol

What high school are you at? That's not the mood here at CHS. Lots of us disappointed!!! Incumbent's wife has picture on PD's DUI arrests. Situation getting worse---no improvement!

Nope, Kim! You got it totally wrong!! Not the two women you think since you don't like them. People don't like you anyway!

Ok, Kim, your daughter, who thinks she is sitting pretty on the board, is the next one to go! She took money from our kids and now drives a Hummer. She never even graduated from high school! And she makes sensible decisions for our children? What have you taught your children to do? Tsk, Tsk!

Oh please !! When I blog I dont hide behind a fictious name. I truly wish the best to Mrs. Mendoza and Mrs. Searls. Both of whom are very intelligent women, that will serve this district very well. Now to the comment of sour grapes. Educate yourself. Did you see that I had put up any signs, or walk the neighborhoods knocking on doors, asking for a vote? I think not. This was because I would rather run and lose, then have them run me off. I will continue to be a presence at all board meetings, and be a voice for the community. I have no intention of allowing any specific group to intimadate me as this has been proving in the past. The "Good Old Boy" mentality that was shown in this blog by "ugh" is truly a reflection of the undereducate mentality of people who vote on the basis of a favor, a relative, a friend and who truly do not have any idea of the problems, challenges, and financial dismay that this district is presently experiencing.

Typical Canutillo mentality. This female, I can't even think of her as a lady was transmitting nude photos of herself with district computers to her boyfriend (who also worked for the district). She was fired, then sued the district for wrongful termination. Coronado, and his puppets made sure that she was paid off. How can you justify having a school board trustee sitting up there ugly as sin, with no idea of what she is doing, other than popping out kids. All that while she recieved a large amount of money to buy her Hummer. Didn't Sergio's wife look pretty on her arrest mubshot? And of course we have that sexual deviant Mando, who has also used district computers to surf the porn as they say. Well done Canutillo, well done. And these are the people who will make decisions for your children. Don't you have to grow up first before you are mature enough to make decisions for others? Maybe we can name a Planned Parenthood Branch after her?

Its outlandish ignorant comments like most of these that make me ashamed to be a graduate of Canutillo. Thank God I am not in this District anymore! You people have obviously never grown up & are despicable role models to your children. How pathetic to make all these accusations without even getting the facts straight. This thread is not intended to trash people & try to degrade people. Until you all grow up & support each other, Canutillo will continue to be a war zone filled with jealous immature old ladies! I pray for Canutillo & wish the current board the best of luck!

To Good Pick:

Just because someone takes roll in a Board Meeting does not mean they run the meeting. The BOARD President runs the meeting, not the secretary. Mendoza simply took roll call and announced items, which absolutely does not qualify her to sit on the Board of Trustees.

Mendoza, as a secretary, made ZERO executive decisions. Furthermore, as a secretary in the Board Meetings, she had zero authority to make decisions without first getting approval or guidance from either the Board President or the Super; therefore, she really didn't use any independent thinking skills. So don't kid yourself that she ran anything. She merely carried out orders and decisions from higher-ups, which was echelons above her.

Additionally, Mendoza may know the "people" of the district, but not the management of it. Please tell me how working as a secretary for 30 years qualifies someone to make multi-million dollar decisions regarding the education of our kids, or decisions regarding curriculum? With her limited qualifications, she couldn't get a job as a CFO, or director of any kind, yet you adamently believe she is a good pick to make decisions regarding these matters? The reality is she doesn't know the management of the district, nor how to lead it. Just because you know how to input a PO, does not make you a business-savvy person. What she does know are her fellow secretaries, maintenance men, and cafeteria ladies, etc (who voted her into office based on friendships, not experience).

Mendoza is a populist, who was elected by her blue-collar peers in Canutillo. THe reality is that elections in Canutillo are popularity contests-- similar to electing the high school homecoming queen (disregarding looks, of course).

It absolutely frightens me what the Canutillo voters believe are proper qualifications to run a school district. Ms. Mendoza, although a nice person, is out of her league. I saw her at the Trustee Forum. She is neither intelligent, nor well-versed. In fact, she came across as slow, uninformed, insecure, and even slightly illiterate. Seriously...you think she is a good pick? I wouldn't hire her to manage my checkbook, much less the district's finances and operations. You should seriously raise your standards.

LOL! I probably wasn't born here?!?!?!? Why don't you learn how to spell "citizen" then talk to me! Canutillo has come a long way and grown so much, but the continued bickering makes it look really bad. I love Canutillo & just hope for the best. Hopefully YOU aren't an ex-grad, cause DANG you didn't even learn how to spell citizen!:0
