Thank you El Paso voters for thinking about the community and the students and not about themselves! An investment in public education is an investment in the future!
The voters realized that Canutillo has a superintendent who is devoted to seeing that his school district maintains the high level of educcational quality.
Very Happy

we're keeping a close eye and will investigate exactly how this money is spent, so don't even think about getting a raise.. enough with all the corruption and careless spending across the board.. be ready to be taken to court for anything fishy that happens between now and the next 5 yrs. this money will be monitored 24/7

Sounds to me like you are completely uninformed. Not one penny of bond money can be spent
on raises, or salaries. Educate yourself before you criticize.

You should keep a watchful eye on the Republicans as they have shipped US jobs overseas, bailed out savings and loans institutions, given tax cuts to the very rich, want to take away Medicare, privatize Social Security, etc. Corporations make billions and don't pay taxes. The Republicans do nothing for the common man except pick his pockets. Make the Republicans accountable.

The Republicans are all for that wasteful State-Mandated testing that does more harm than good to the educational system. Companies are making billions of dollars selling all the workbooks and testing materials that go with testing. Guess who profits? People like Neil Bush, of the Bush crime family.

Microsoft Office (Bill Gates) get a nice piece of change from every computer in the schools. What a monopoly! What a racket!

The Republicans want public schools to Fail. They want to privatize them so that they can make money off the schools!

The Robber Barons of the 1890s are back! Be very watchful of the Republicans.

As for those thievin' teachers and administrators, they may take a pencil or pen home once in a while.

Of course Canutillo passed when you take over 100 senior students to vote!!! You say they are going to central office for something then you have them vote during school hours!!! Why do we need a new school when the others have a lot of classrooms empty!! Class size vary from campus to campus and last bond was for two elementaries to be built and only one was built. It was a good strategy not to renew the new teacher contracts and put the pressure on the students to have their parents vote! Telling students that a lot more teachers were going to be laid off and programs etc... Also, you have people go and cheer, at voting locations paying them over time!!! Nice very wise way to spend out tax money!!! Please don't tell me this is not true because I was asked if I wanted to work on Saturday!!! I hope this time around the money is used wisely because the tax payers well some because the students are tax payers once again put their trust in Canutillo. This money should be used to better the education of children and that is it! We have plenty of classrooms and need more teachers for a better student to teacher ratio not a new facility. Fill up the empty classrooms first then when all schools are full you need to start thinking about building a new school!!!

What a slap in the face for Garcia!!!! It's sad that teachers and students are being impacted by lack of trust the public has toward Garcia. The FBI should investigate educational perks his chidren receive at their school..trust me the cuts don't apply to them!

You are an absolute idiot......you do not have an head to think with ---- Again if your a DR., it must be in proctogoly---your head is so far up your A.. you can not see the trees because of the forest around you.
As for those thievin' teachers and administrators, they may take a pencil or pen home once in a while.
Your an idiot. You must be a protologist, because your head is so far up your A.. you can not think. How much longer do you think we can go on like we are doing now? Money does not grow on trees, but EPISD thinks it does and so does Canutillo and Socorro, so it seems. Repbulicans do not have much to do with this type of voting in and around the EL Paso area, check your stats---there are more Democracts in our part of the world and that means higher and higher taxes and less and less to show for it. Get a life, you have no ideal what you are talking about !!!!!

I am very proud of the voters in the Canutillo school district. You put the students and their educaion first. Now, parents need to talk to their children, tell them about the vote and how voters are willing to pay more for their education. Teachers are there to teach and help the students learn, students need to step up to the plate and study, listen to their teachers, work, ask questions when they do not understand, and do their best for their futures. Teachers are there to help them but they have to have students willing and wanting to receive a great education.
Good job SISD

If you think there are over 100 registered voters in the senior class of Canutillo, you are crazy! Think about what you are saying. What probably happened was a senior event with over 100 seniors, and then those who could vote did. I'd bet you $20 there was less than 15 of them that were registered to vote.

By the way, if you are upset about that, you should try Socorro. They had "mobile voting sites" that showed up at their high schools for a day each, and registered seniors all got to get out of class and go vote - they didn't even pretend to have an "event."

Sounds like sour grapes to me!

Episd it isnt wise to belittle someone UNTIL you "think" and get your "idea" of what to talk about in order. Answer two questions please...1)Which party is in control of Austin politics currently? 2) Which party worked on and presented the current budget to operate our school districts? If the answers are Republican then it sounds like Dr.M might have a point too consider.

I think that the idiot is yourself. Who runs the state government in Texas? Who voted to cut funding for education in Texas by 5 billion dollars this year? Who lowered property tax rates in 2006 thus reducing money for schools? Democrats? You're an idiot if you think that it's democrats that run Texas. Republicans have run State government and the Texas state house of representatives for a long time now, not democrats. Funny how republicans don't give a ratsass for education yet don't say anything when the military wants to buy fighter jets that cost $150 million dollars each like the F-22 or spend 30 billion dollars buying the F-35.
People have to start putting things into perspective. The republicans are the enemies of education, they hate it because it produces smarter people, and smarter people don't vote republican.
