Oh here we go. The Mayor should not stick his nose where it does not belong and worry more about getting more stores in Carrollton. We have more to worry about then this. The police department is fine.

Really, no personal vendetta? Who does he think he's kidding. We are smarter than that. Maybe Mr. Leghart should start reading the ordinances and find out what he is allowed to do and not do. He is the Mayor not the Emporer.

I think if you asked most residents of Carrollton what they think of their police department, they would tell you they do a fine job. I don't think anyone feels they are not be protected. Calls are answered in an orderly manner. The Police Chief has done a fine job for many years and has earned the respect of most of the village residents and businesses. These charges that the mayor had against Chief Yeager are ridiculous, Chief Yeager has managed his schedule for years, and with a very small amount of part time officers, and did a very good job. I would like to ask any of his men if they feel unsafe at work (working alone). Most shifts have two men, except for midnights, and if you have been in downtown Carrollton in the middle of the night, it is pretty quiet. This is not Canton, the big city the mayor is from. The last thing Chief Yeager would want is to put anyone's life in danger. If this is not a personal vendetta, then why would there be so many charges against Chief Yeager, and really"dishonesty", give me a break. I have never known a more honest person. He has devoted more than 40 years to this village and this is the thanks we give him. Something needs to be done with a major who wants to control everything. The people of this village need to stand up for what is right and support our Chief.

Do you not see a pattern forming. First they got rid of Mr. Grimms now they are working on destroying the reputation and character of a man who has devoted the majority of his life to the village of Carrollton. A man who is know for his fairness and honesty, a man who has helped make Carrollton a safe village most of us are proud to call home. Yes I am speaking of our Chief of Police, Ron Yeager, one of the most hardworking people I know.
Who is this Mayor Leghart, I thought he was a man of God, he seems to what to run the whole show. I understand he is also after the fire department, wanting to control everything. Our council needs to wake up and get a handle on him before he destroys our village.

My father is the most dedicated, hardworking and honest man I know. It pains me to think that after 41 years of service to Carrollton, his character and reputation are being questioned.

I will stand up for and behind my Dad always. He's #1 in my book.

Perhaps the mayor should go back to wherever he came from....was it Stark County? Yes, from people I have talked to he wants to run the police department and the fire department....I still ask....what do you have in mind mayor...or who? Leave the police chief alone and quit spending taxpayers money on Attorney fees. I think you have opened a can of worms here.

Sad in so many ways...#1~ to try and ruin the reputation of a man that has done nothing but dedicate 41 years to this community and been a true professional.#2~ to spend MY tax money on the mayor's personal vendetta or powerplay. I think there is only one person that should be run out and it is NOT Chief Yeager!!

same thing happened in the County office about 3 years ago, someone wanted a job and the one that had the position retired....Mayor, don't know where you are from, but you have a lot to get used to here... been here almost 20 years and still don't know how it is done!!!!!

Chief Yeager, hang in there.....fight it just as hard, and go after him when you prove your point!

I think everyone that knows you has your back!!!
