Canton teen killed by drunk driver in crash

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a late night crash that killed an East Canton area teen.

They should lock her up and throw away the key as an example to others. When a person is driving under suspension the laws need to be tougher than they are now so no more innocent people suffer.

I wish the Laws would change already. She should get capital punishment and not be let go for this to happen again and again. What will she get new License Plates that are yellow with red letters? Get the drunks off the road after cault the first time! They can take a taxi or ride RTA!

Angie was on of my best friends. She was something to all of us. She made an impact to all of us in someway. She had a kind heart, she would always make you happy, no matter what. She would sit there, and either comfort you, or just hold you and tell you "everything will be okay". She always smiled, even when she wasnt happy. She was the strongest person i know, she took all the shit life threw at her, and still tried to hold on strong the best she could. She treated all her friends amazing, and she was ncie to everyone. She was the most funniest, person i had ever met. She was smart, and beautiful, she stood up for what she believed in, and she always fought for her family. She out herself last to everyone else. She was truely something special. You will never find a friend as good as Angie, and I guarantee you that much.

Dear SPC Baker Jonathan, I want to help your family! My 20 yr old niece was killed by a drunk driver on RT.57 (in Medina, not far from Canton), 2 years ago by a drunk driver also driving on a suspended license. He was using his girlfriend's car, had a blood alcohol level of .300(almost 4 x's legal limit), suspended license, speeding to over take the vehicle in front of him in a NO Passing Zone! My niece, Leah Karp, was on her way to visit me from Kent State and was just 4 minutes from my home. I know EXACTLY what your family is feeling! It is Undescribable! I completley agree with you!!! to take away a drunks license to drive is all good and everything, but what the state of Ohio and the nation for that matter needs to do is pass a law. That if your license gets taken away your vehicle be impounded until you get your license back. because if someone is willing to break the law and drive drunk, than they are willing to drive on a suspended license! and if anyone should lend them a vehicle to drive then all of there property should be seized. I don't know, maybe i'm a little biased becasue i know both Angie's family and her boyfriend's but that seems pretty fair. Until the country is willing to crack down on the drunks in this counrty more inocent people are going ot be killed!

How tragic!!! I have a 16 year old daughter who just received her drivers license. These tragic scenarios make me scared to death for not only my children, but all of us on the road. What good is it to suspend a license??? The drunk just drives anyway. We need stiffer penalties. I like the idea one poster had of impounding any vehicle they own. Also, holding anyone criminally responsible for having a repeat DUI offender drive their car.
We are too Liberal with our laws. Maybe it will take a few law-makers to lose a family member this way.

Seriously how much longer is the state going to continue to allow DUI offender's to get away with what they are doing? A 15 year old girl is gone, been taken away from her family because of someone else's ignorance. Its time for a change, how many more are going to die before that change comes?

Angie was a great friend and I will miss so much. She could make me laugh and smile when i was depressed. Her death has impacted all of us. I know a number of at East Canton High School were crying Thursday. I know i broke down first period when my friend told she she was gone. I will be attending both calling hours and the funeral even if I have to miss school. Her lose is more important to me than school is right now. Angie, her family and Joey's family are in my prayers. Even to this day and the months ahead I will look back n still cant believe it happened. It was a tragic event that should have happened. god bless her and her family. May her body and soul Rest In Peace. She will be miss greatly.

angie is truely a great person and i'm gonna miss her so much i am really close to her boyfriends family and i was really close to her i just wish things would go back to the way they were and i agree ANYONE! with a dui should have their car impounded until they get their licence which they should only get back if they are proven worthy of it
